OK,,,I dumped it yesterday when I went inverted without having idle-up selected. I almost recovered but I started the invert too low. Landed on his head in tall grass. The only damage was one broken tail blade.
I changed the tail blades,,,,looked over EVERYTHING,,,checked bolts, screws, shafts, everything.
When back out and flew it,,it flew great,,,still solid,,trims good,,,did some FFF. After about 3 minutes I set up for a flip,,as soon as the heli got about 90 degrees,,,the blades went nutz and down he came. The ball-linkage on one of the blade grips had busted,,,,,split right in two on the end,,so,,one blade was just flopping,,,,made a he!! of a racket.
Here's my damage now,,,,main blades toast-$80,,,,,,,landing gear busted,,,,flybar rod,,,,,forward torque tube gears,,,,and,,,,the main head housing-ouch.
The feathering shaft, main shaft,,main gear,,blade grips were all fine. I thought I was back in business until I spotted the two little alignment pins on the bottom of the head housing had sheared off. The housing is $34 and I ordered the mixing arms too,,,they got dinged but useable,,,those were $20.
So,,,over $170.
Anyone ever try to replace those little pins? I haven't pulled the head yet,,,maybe a guy could punch those out and press in a roll pin?
BTW,,,that new Fusuno canopy? One scratch,,,,no cracks,,,,,and that was a hard hit!!
