Hi Everyone, As you can see, there's been a little change in what I'm going to do around here. Forum is the key word in our name. If you studied any world history at all, you know that our societies are based on the free exchange of thoughts and ideas. As a moderator in this section, my goals are to keep the ideas on track, and to keep the dialouge civil. That's all. All I ask is that you filter your post before you send it. Read, maybe even re-read then hit "Post Message." Remember also that not everyone has your background. You may have graduated from M.I.T., but not everyone else has. I'm not trying to say dumb it down, I'm only trying to say that there is more than one way to make a point. So please try to be respectful of each other. If you want to start a thread where its necessary to have a graphing calculator, by all means do it, but don't bring a cannon to a sword fight. You'll miss, and you won't have made your point.
Since this is a build/mod area here are my thoughts:
- pictures are always helpful (unless they are pictures of you passed out on the couch, and your friends have drawn on your face with marker... that's funny... but not helpful).
- links to explanations, products, good deals... etc., are extremely important in builds. A list of what you have in a heli and where you got it may help the next guy make a more informed decision.
- all questions, build related, are welcome. This is how we learn. Everyone started out new at some point. However read the stickies first, then ask your question. (At this point there are none, but I will be posting some set-up stickies, and radio set-up stickies... feel free to contribute.)
- price out your builds. Not everyone has a disposable income and may be on a budget. Knowing how much something costs can help make decisions.
- when making comparisons, try to compare apples to apples.
There is more, i hope, I'm not locking this thread, feel free to add anything. Most of all have fun here.

There'll be no need for me to dumb any of mine down ;D
Posting links to suppliers and giving price comparisons is EXACTALLY why I'm here.I spend a hundred times more time on research than on the work.
I hope I can be of some help here and I hope I can find help when I need it.

Thanks for reading the history books. Not too much of that going 'round in the forum biz lately.
The more info the better. It saves all us lazier researchers a bunch of the time so we can spend it doing the lazy things lazy researchers do.
Happy landings

Well, my history is a little cloudy, but you're right... taking back the word forum from the non-believers.
... I was trying to imagine a lazy researcher... Lounge chair, straw hat, umbrella drink with a lap top.

Speak for yourself. My beach umbrella (also the tiny one in my drink) goes everywhere I go.
Happy landings

I'm working on a thread for the DX6i set up. This includes pictures. Looking for some Futaba, and Jr. users to do some set up threads as well. I will sticky threads that cover beginner build information.
Also, some pretty cool build and mod threads running right now, keep them coming. We don't have space for pics, but you can use photobucket.

Bob "Finless" White has produced some videos that are almost a must see for any beginner, and a great refresher for those who have been flying for a while. Please, if you are new, watch these videos. Many Many questions get answered here: www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=41692I recommend downloading them to your hard drive so you'll always have them. Pay particular attention to "Blade Balancing," "Blade Tracking," "CCPM Setup" Parts 1 & 2, and "Pitch and Throttle Curves."

suggestion, can we ask the original posters to include in their subjects what their mod is for?
IE BS, Falcon 40, Skids, Electronic, ect...
I think this would help alot when tring to find some specific info. Also if its possible maybe it would make sence to create a WIKI page, where we can take the good and proven Mods, ect and make a WIKI. Could even do it for each Model of Heli all tho the wiki might become huge lol. We could use the WIKI as more of a links page back to the proper forum entries. Because as the forum grows finding the info will slowly be shoved off page and not lost but hard to find.
If the wiki idea is liked, i would only go with proven mods. Not experimental ones.
