Moat-Gator on the water!!

Got the floats all rigged up. This is the maiden flight. I was just doing a test flight to see how it handled, it handled so nice and it was calm out,,,so I just went for it and dunked him in the kiddie-pool. When I rigged up the floats, I set it for about 2 degrees nose down. The instructions for the floats recommended that you do not use any negative pitch on the water,,,so I set my normal pitch-curve for 0 degrees pitch thru 50%, then matched my idle-up pitch curve from 50% thru 100%.

It flies GREAT,,,very stable as you can see. Next stop,,,the lake,,,and a little pike fishing!! WooooHoooo!!

That is way cool elk. Do you remove the skids to install the floats?

Yes,,,take a look;



What comes with them is just the aluminum cross bars. They are pretty flimsy,, so I beefed them up with a couple wood beams. They bolt on to the same holes as the skids,,,takes two minutes to slap them on.

That's some very nice flying elk, inspires those of us just in the learning stages ;D Wish I could rig something up on my heli to drop something on the birds that keep crapping on my car ;D

Hell,,,,I'm just learning,,,,,been flying RCs now 2-1/2 months. I'm forunate that I have a whole bunch of time to spend on this hobby/addiction,,, and I had some money to burn,,this heli has a Helicommand on it. Very easy to fly. I've gotten a tremendous amount of help and support here.

LOL,,,actually,,,my 'slush-fund' got depleated fairly quickly in this hobby. Back to the budget,,,,but my "addiction" has priority now! ;D And,,,,I put the wifey back to work!!!!
