I decided to give a piro flip an attempt. I got two in this video...sorta. The first one is not very pretty, but the second one towards the end was alright. I certainly have a long way to go before I can do multiple piro flips, but, it's always a learning curve.

I said "whoa, trying to do a piro flip there, didn't work out so well...first attempt there." Yeah, that first one was pretty messy, good thing I had it way up there that time. Tried to do multiple piro flips yesterday and I crashed it pretty bad. Got about $80 worth of replacement parts on order. It certainly stings when this baby goes down, that's for sure. On the other hand, I'm getting much better at re-building these helis and making them better.

RC,,,,do you have the HC turned off when you try those?
And,,,,can you explain the basic procedure for doing a piro-flip? I just don't understand it. If the tail is constantly spinning,,,how do you get enough cyclic to flip inverted? I've tried it on the Phoenix,,but I just can't get my head wrapped around the concept. Do you reverse the direction of the piro/tail.
Sorry you dumped it,,,,,but it's just part of the learning curve!!

AAAhhhh the piro flip. The heli gods way of amusing themselves.lol...Tough concept.Timing is absolutely everything.
Start your roll at the same time you start your piro. Go through this in your mind sloooowly at first. The flip is always moving in the same direction.Let's say left to right in a clockwise piro.So you start with right aleron. As the heli turns, keep the cyclic leaning the same direction.
So look at these points of reference to get the idea. At tail in you are giving right aleron. At right side in you are giving forward elevator. At nose in you are giving left aleron. At left side in you are giving rear elevator.
Get it?The helis blades are always going down on your right side.
Tough as hell.I can barely do two or three in a row on the sim and my nads are nowhere near ready to threaten my equipment with one.

No problem at all!! ;D Now,,,,tell me again how a bumble-bee can fly!!!!

Randy, this lil video was pretty helpful for me in learning the piro flips:
Just start by trying the half piro flip, the go for the whole flip. It's messy and it takes a LOT of practice. I'm still not great at it, but now I can do one flip pretty well. I start losing it after 2 flips though, bang the sticks farther than I should.
I think my hardest part was the right amount of rudder. Only a small amount is needed, the you have to circle the right stick pretty fast. I usually go left on the rudder stick and CW on the right stick. I see a lot of people also go right on the rudder while going CCW on the right stick.
It's a tough one to explain in words, so I hope the video helps.
Don't do it with the HC, because it is really twitchy that way. The HC on the 600 isn't really necessary, if you ask me. The heli is so stable on its own. Of course, I tend to crash when I don't have it on and I'm trying something new. I just can't think fast enough to flip it on as it's going down. I hardly think fast enough to put it in normal mode and save the main gear from tearing up. Now that I fly in idle up mostly, I always forget to flip it in to normal mode as I'm crashing, then instead of pulling the left stick down to kill the motor, I give it negative pitch and hit the ground harder, then tear up the main gear.
