This is the first time I spooled up the 500 ESP,,,I named him the Farrari,,,'cause of the canopy!
I have a tail wag,,trying to work out the kinks. It was REALLY windy and big gusts,,,but it handled very well,,,'cept for the tail!!

Hah! You'll get the tail figured out and then you will begin to feel the POWER OF THE 500 SIDE OF THE FORCE!!!

Servo horn is too long on the tail.19mm is for a standard servo. Not poking....just saying......lol....

When you get some serious backward motion going........you're going to want that wag back....lol...For now,you need to slow the corrections to the tail though. You and I are at the same spot on the learning curve.
Slow down!!!!

Hah! You'll get the tail figured out and then you will begin to feel the POWER OF THE 500 SIDE OF THE FORCE!!! Ohhhhh Yeaaaa! I flew two packs tonight when the wind died down at dusk. It is evident that I can't use the transmitter to dial in the tail,,,I hit every number between 20% and 85%,,,the wag is still there. I'll check the servo arm again and check all my mechanics on the tail. Something must be loose. As for power,,,,I flew it Stnt 2 at 100% throttle. I had +25% expo on the ail and elev but I didn't like it. Went back to 0%. Now,,,this heli does exactly what you tell it to do when you tell it to do it. And does it FAST. No way am I ready for any 3D on this zipper-bird!! ;D But I can tell right now,,,this heli is going to be FUN!!! Give me a couple days to get used to it,,,,then I'll stick it to a wall!!! Or let it eat one of my foam jets!!!!LOL

{{{{slapping self}}}}} It WAS the transmitter,,,,,I had the switch assignment wrong. All is well,,,,,my gains are 85/35% and the tail is rock-solid now.
I LOVE my Walmart gyro!!! ;D

Your switch assignment was wrong? How so? I've got a bunch of wag in my 500 heli with the G401B and I can't tell if it is the cheap gyro or my gain that is causing that wag. I've tried every value from no gain all the way up and it seems to be the best around the 65% setting (Dx7), but always with that little amount of wag.
I don't know, thought you might have some ideas I haven't thought of. I tried several length of the tail servo arm and that is not the issue. I'll try the GP750 from the 600 later and see if it is the the cheapo gyro. Perhaps I should have sprung for the genuine GY401 from Futaba, or just get another GP750. Everyone has the GY401 and raves about it, so we'll see.

It was the switch asignment,,,,I had my gyro running on the aux2 switch when I thought I had it on the rudder dual-rate switch. I had my head 'up and locked'!
On my 600,,,,I got rid of the 'little wag' by remounting the gyro on some Align mounting 'gel',,,,it's a sticky gel pad that cuts the vibration out totally. It works good.
The futuba 401 is perfect,,,,I love it,,,it is so nice to not to have to worry about the tail anymore!
