Yesterday the weather was great and the wind was supposed to be next to nothing come evening so I spent the day getting all my birds ready to fly. And,,,I took my lawn-mower to the goose field to clear out a runway. My cousin finnaly got the haying done so now I can trash the place,,LOL. I mowed a strip 15 yards wide and 120 yards long and I really scalped it tight and low . I called my cousin and told him to meet there at 6:30 pm. I had my Flasher 450,,,,my new T-rex 500,,,my T-rex 600,,,my F-4E jet and my F-16 jet. I live in a SMALL town in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan,,,about 400 folks live here. So,,,word has been getting around about the crazy dude and his toys. These Yoopers around here get excited over tomato plants,,,RC helis and jets just don't make sense to them,,lol. But they are a curious lot! The wind was so calm that once I started flying you could hear my heli all over the county and by the time I got done,,I had an audience of 12 beer-sloshed Yoopers taking bets on which bird I'd crash first. I took 50% of the pot for not crashing anything,,,,LOL!! I flew all my toys 3 times each,,,,,15 flights and no mishaps,,no crashes. Man,,,,this is fun stuff!! Randy

Sounds perfect and you made some money too. ;D
I attract a few spectators from time to time. I usually fly a combo of planes and helis too.
Yesterday was the first time a guy pulled up, watched and then pulled a plane out to fly. Turned out it was a Hanger 9 nitro P51. Beautiful.
He is relatively new to flying and he ran into a problem right off. He'd let his electronics battery go low and when he took off the plane just wasn't responding right. It made a sharp left turn, he caught it and then it was all over the place, inverted, upright heading for the tree line. I don't know how he did it, but he got it back on the ground in one peice. His reaction? "At least I got to fly today." Doesn't that say it all. ;D ;D ;D
Happy landings

Yoopers?
I have had VERY few flying days where I could fly that many times without something happening!!
Congratulations!
Yoopers? Is that a new brand of fire ants?

They used to call folks that lived in the UP of Michigan "uppers". Much beer and long winters later they are now known as Yoopers. ;D

Sounds like you had a blast Elk. I always manage to start to gather on lookers when I fly my heli. Ive had to chase some back because they tried to get close to it while flying ...lol.
Yoopers, ;D have not heard that in a while,...my wifes family is from Michigan.
