Very nice Fergie! Did you find that "taking the heli for a walk" helped you at all with orientation and forward flight? I want to make the transition from being a chickensh!t tail-in hoverer to doing some forward flight with my EXI 450 but can't seem to make my thumbs do it! ;D

Nice vid fergie!
Colin, my two cents: If you start by flying figure eights you'll get used to seeing the heli "kind of" (30-45 degree angle) from the front in each leg of the eight and you'll get more used to the nose coming at you and before you know it you'll be able to fly nose in. Anyway, it worked for me. ;D
Happy landings

Nice vid, what was the cause of that crash where it flipped forward on you (with the training gear on)?
BTW, landing on that orange pad at the end I know is NOT easy. Depth perception at that distance is decieving.

Depth perception at that distance is decieving. thanx dditch, the crash was caused by glitchy servos. they were spectrum DSP75's not good IMO. i ditched those along time ago. i'm using futaba S3156's now. a whole lot better. the second crash was simply, it was getting dark outside and lost orientation. your right about the depth perception, and then looking down on the heli took a little getting used to.
