Just had to get one more battery in before dark. Well we have all been there and boy do I wish the one before that one had been the last one tonight. Had a great day ran about 6 batteries through the G2 and then on number seven bam.....the ground came up and bite the heli.
On lift off a gust caught the heli and surprised me and pushed the blades into the grass. Not to bad the only thing to replace so far is the main shaft and a couple of links, pulled them all the way off the threaded shafts and stripped them out. Should be back up and flying in about a week.
Like Ernie said "I hate being in this forum"

Knock on wood, I've had fabulous luck flying lately, that's why I LOVE being on this forum. But, I'm not dumb enough to think it's gonna last. ;D

Well all the parts came in on the 1st. and if time allows will get them changed out today and back up in the air tomorrow. Stuck a CNC tail setup on the order..hehe. May have a few questions for you G2 guys if you have it on yours as there are a bunch of loose parts in the bag that don't seem to be on the stock tail.

Dave, I think that's a good move putting a CNC tail on it. I've had mine for over a year and a half now and really need to make that change. Look forward to your impressions.

Dave, I think that's a good move putting a CNC tail on it. I've had mine for over a year and a half now and really need to make that change. Look forward to your impressions. Happy landings Got the tail installed and it seems to work good so far. The only issue was there are two very small spacer that go on either side of the pulley that keeps tension on the belt (side note the pulleys are two small bearings)and they are way too big in width. Took lots of slow grinding to get them down to the correct size. The stock tube will not work with the Exceed tail, or at least it would not with mine. The following is a list of parts needed to make this mod. Takes about two hours and around three cups of coffee. 1. CNC Aluminum Alloy Tail Shaft Steering Upgrades for Exceed-RC G2 / DragonFly 36 50H08-84 $16.00 2. CNC Aluminum Alloy Tail Shaft Steering Set Upgrades for Exceed-RC G2/ H36 50H08-85$8.95 3. CNC Aluminum Alloy Tail Gear Holder Set Upgrades for Exceed-RC G2 / H36 50H08-86$10.50 The tail gear holder comes with a new tube which you WILL have to install as the holes are set closer to the end of the tube for the new CNC tail. Will try to get some pictures up in the morning of the installed parts. And by the way no instruction as to what goes where hardware wise so I hope I have all the screws and bolts in the right place. Another note you will need loctite for this mod as you will be placing all hardware in metal and not plastic. Dave

4 cups of coffee and a slap across the face gets me ready for just about any heli repair or installation challenge. ;D I was out flying the G2 yesterday waiting for something to break just to give me an excuse to buy something. Maybe a CNC part ot two. Darn thing just keeps flying. I guess I could crash it on purpose. The Black Hawk threw a screw in the ball link at the tail and I did about 50 piros before it landed. Nothing broke. I'm just doing nothing to boost the hobby's economy right now. I'm sure it will all come crashing in on my head soon. ;D Happy landings
