The parts have started to arrive. I got the DS520 gears and rebuilt the two servos. I'm a little rusty.Took almost ten minutes.Nine minutes for the first one and a minute for the second. Out of habit,I cracked them open and dumped the gears out.Both. I then opened the new ones and thought"Oh sh!t".lol...Where do they all go?Figured it out. This is the gears that were damaged.... Next I started on the tail. The tail shaft was a mess. The pitch slider even busted apart leaving its core on the shaft.Had to pitch the whole thing... I had to take two tail gear set ups to get the bearings for one. Both shafts are bent so the inside bearing is lost. Then comes the simple assembly part. First the pitch slider.... Tail blade grips and spindle... Tail blades... Vertical stabilizer.I'll have to remove it when my blue anodized washers get her... Now the tail block. The Flasher one is OK but it is sloppy and noisey... Insert the elongated hex nuts in the block... Be sure to set the backlash as loose as possible by putting the umbrella gear as far into the block as you can. This is the gear that goes on the torque tube.If it is not in the block deep enough it will crowd the vertical gear and be noisy and a little harder to turn... Sandwich the halves together and install the tail boom... Break time ;D Stuffed baked potato.Mmmmmm......

A quick bite to eat and on to the rotor head. The main shaft was bent. We've all changed that so I didn't take many pix. Here's the new Align shaft... Had to change the feathering shaft too. That sucked. Got it all back together and it wouldn't tighten down. I broke my driver trying. Also stripped one of the bolts. Then I looked down on the floor and there lays one of the brass bushings.Hmmm. Took it all back apart and put it back together right and..WOW...It tightened right up.lol.... Careful with the feathering shaft. It has more small parts to lose than anything else on the heli.Well, the servos have a few more and smaller parts Well, just about everything that moves is now Align. Only the swashplate remains... Well,it's back to waiting on the mail again

I'm only waiting on washers That and I forgot to order skid pipes.lol.... A big thing is my Helicommand. I'm not going to put it together without it. Haven't used it in a while but I like having it anyway. Inverted hovering practice with it is a bit less stressful. I sent the HC to Captron in Germany so who knows when I'll have it back. The weather is too crappy to fly anyway.

Where's the cheapest place to get Trex 500 skid pipes? That's all I'm lacking and then on to the motor problem...

HeliDirect is out. AMain doesn't show pipes separately. Edit, yes they do. $5.99 If you don't want to go to China, XHeli has the EXI skid pipes for $4.91 a pair. www.xheli.com/exi-500-140.html

I was afraid xheli would be the only place cheap. I had to get my linkages there since they were the only place in CONUS with them in stock. They charge flat rate shipping. Look at the box the links came in... They were the only thing in that box too. They charged me $5.50 for shipping and it shows the postage right on the box as being $2.43.I guess it costs $3.07 to put them in the box.Handling fee Oh well.Gotta do what I gotta do.lol...
