I was working on my Trex 500 yesterday and noticed the anti-rotation pin was loose.Checked it and it was stripped or wallowed out or something. It's a clone rotor head:rolleyes: I decided to glue it in the swash with Gorilla Glue Super. It cured overnight and I went flying today at 2:30pm. You guessed it.It came out.Rolled left and forward like they do and BLAMMO..... To look at the heli,it doesn't look bad at all. Broken blades of course. Bent boom but the TT still works.I'll take it out and look it over. When the canopy ripped off it stripped the anti-bracket. A bent skid pipe. I'm sure the normal shafts are bent. Never try to glue something in the rotating assembly.lol.... Not too bad huh?Could'a been alot worse.

What were you thinking man? A pro like you trying to glue something to the swash? Was beer involved? Don't answer that last question. Beer HAD to be involved. ;D ;D ;D
Because I was crashing so much, and I never had all the right parts, I tried to glue some rotating pieces on my Bee. I don't need to tell you how good that worked. ;D
Happy landings

No beer involved before but there were several after ;D
I do know better but I'd been waiting on that stupid Helicommand for a month and was very anxious to see if it was working.
These Flashers suck. A tail fails and causes a crash. Replace it with Align. The torque tube breaks and causes a crash that destroys the Align tail. Replace the TT with Align and rebuild the tail. The rotor head breaks causing a crash that destroys the TT....
It just goes on and on. If the heli was all Align to start with,it would never crash.
Trust me I say this heli will never leave the ground again with Flasher parts. As a matter of fact,it may never leave the ground again period.

I just found something scary I noticed a drop in power and headspeed lately and blamed the motor......Maybe/maybe not. The jesus bolt is sheared off on both sides and the head block was turning on the shaft. The ends of the j bolt have worn a groove inside the head block and friction was holding it in place. I think this was broken before the crash. So this little crash may have saved me from a big one. damn I'm getting sloppy. My Trex's before this one were always perfect and I got lazy about looking them over.

It's tough with clone parts. Some are good and some are just plain not so good. Looks like alot of work and cost to fix. Hopefully there will be some sales on parts during Thanksgiving week. Ditech has some coupon codes on his mycoolheli website.

The worst part is $70 a pop for blades. I may go with some cheapos this time.At least until it's mechanically perfect.

Got my swash today. Changed the main shaft and swash. Replaced the sheared off jesus bolt. Also replaced all the fasteners in the head and drive. Odd thing is,the head seems much tighter and right than before. Maybe some of the old stuff was wearing thin but not enough to see. I need to rebuild two servos, get an anti-rotation bracket and a pair of blades.

Man, that's a crying shame that the Flasher is such crap.
That Flasher swash looks really funky in the picture.
You should be close to having an Align bird now, dontcha? === I've been slowly building up Align parts for my 500. I watch Ebay and every now and then someone either parts out a 500 ESP kit or just sells parts. I bought an entire brand new 500 head and then I bought a complete TT tail. So, when I crash it big, I will be converting those parts to Align!
The smoothness and slop difference is large between the Align and the Exi heads, and the Align TT is an absolute work of art. It will be interesting to feel the difference in the air.
But so far, after dozens and dozens of flights, the Exi 500 is still flying really nicely. I still have only crashed it once.

Guys,,,I've been watching this guy on ebay,,click on 'see other items' under the seller. Every week he sells a complete T-Rex 500 ESP kit broken down into parts,,all new. His auction ends every Sunday night. I bought a couple things from him,,,sure beats retail. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280427860390&_trkparms=tab%3DWatching

Think the R48, blue metal on metal loctite would have worked instead of gorilla glue?
I noticed that one of the ball links came off of my Tarot 450 pro, and I'm expecting it to be lose when I try and replace it. The blue loctite has always worked great for holding metal on metal, so I was going to use that. I've used it to hold pinions in place before and never had any issues.
Anyway, good luck with the rebuild Ern.

I almost never try to rig this stuff. Just replace it. The $40 swash would have been chump change compared to the damage from the failure.

is it just me, or do those ds510 and ds520 servo gears grind away easy? I've replace the gears in every servo of my HK500 and I've only had 1 crash. They just don't seem to hold up.
