That's good to hear elk. You must have got the right guy's attention.
I don't like the looks of the Habu. Just a personal thing. But it sure is constructed well.
Happy landings

The only way I got their attention was I filed a paypal dispute. And that turned out to be a nightmare. BananaHobby refuses to talk to people,,,PERIOD. And I don't like that. I've spent the last three days trying to get verification that they are going to ship me the correct jet. I have 3 different customer service phone numbers,,,I've spent in excess of 7 HOURS trying to talk to somebody. Their automated phone responses tell you to use their live-chat support at their website. I logged on and it took 1 hour and 17 minutes for a response,,,then another hour and 13 minutes for the individual to get a grip on what I was requesting,,,,THEN,,he couldn't help.
They sent me a UPS shipping lable to send the wrong jet back to them,,,,,but they REFUSED to schedule a pick up. The closest UPS center from me is 100 miles away,,,I had to pay for UPS to pick it up.
The last word I got was that they will ship the correct jet to me today and I should expect tracking info this evening. We'll see.
Bottom-line,,,,,,,DO NOT DEAL with this company,,,,PERIOD. The only reason I opted for them to replace the jet was because I had to pay for the shipping pickup,,,,if I take the refund,,,I'm out money for absolutely nothing in return. I'm stubborn this way.
This will probably be a HUGE mistake. If I have any problems with this jet at all,,,it will be a nightmare trying to get help from them. I was flat-out LIED to three times,,they are a clueless bunch.
I need to track down Juan Pablo Montoya,,,,his picture is on their website as an advid flyer and they are sponsoring him I guess, they are using him as an endorsement. I wonder if he has to use their non-exsistant customer support service. I bet he has a REAL phone number for them.
OK,,,,my 'test-balloon' popped. Since no-one here had any first-hand knowledge of them,,I took a chance. Even if I get the correct jet and it is the best jet in world,,I will never order from them again. You just can't trust anyone that refuses to talk to you!

Thanks Elk, you took the bullet for me and some other guys for sure.
Unfortunately, you confirmed the whole Banana Hobby nightmare as told by too many guys.
Juan Pablo. Wooh. I lost some respect for him they way he drove in F1 the last few seasons he was there. Now, even more, for being a billboard for BH.
Happy landings

Well,,,they told me it would ship yesterday and I would have tracking info yesterday,,,,,,I got nothing. I contacted the importer thru alibaba and right now, bananahobby is the only one that is selling this jet. If this jet is as good as I suspect, I'll let you guys know and I'll try to find out when a new vendor is selling them.

Just goes to prove that what Rodney Dangerfield said was too true, "Irony can be very ironic." ;D

Well,,,they never sent me tracking info like they promised. I went thru their live-chat support again,,,,45 minutes,,,and they gave me the tracking info,,,I should have the jet on Tuesday the 26th. Geeezz,,,I hope it is the right one and there are no problems with it,,,I don't want to deal with them again!!

It's like they're almost trying to do the worst job possible. That's gotta take more effort than doing the job right. We'll keep our fingers crossed for the right plane, with no problems, delivered on the 26th.
Happy langings

Well,,,the story continues. I finally got the right jet today. I ordered it on the 5th,,,,got the wrong jet,,returned it,,,got the right jet on the 26th.
I did a mock-up,,,which wasn't easy. I had to laugh,,,they had all the servo connectors tied up in a bundle in the battery compartment. All the connectors were labelled,,,#1 thru #5,,,nice and pretty,,,,,,but,, nowhere do they give you the line-up. Had to trace them all back.
I installed my receiver and powered it up. ALL the servo horns were just slapped on,,,nowhere near center. Everything worked except one of the main gear servos was stripped internally,,,,it just spins continuously in both direction,,,bad servo.
I contacted BH thru their live chat,,which took 45 minutes. Once they answered,,they immeadiately agreed to send me a new servo,,no charge.
The jet looks GREAT. All the parts fit well and looks solid. I ran the motor on a 6S battery and it seems to have gobbs of power,,it sounds really mean.
I'll start the build now,,reset all the servo arms to neutral and glue it together. The only concern I have is the ailerons 'look' small for this size jet. I'll have to see how it handles in the air,,,I suppose with the speed this jet has,,,the small ailerons should be fine. I'm worried about the elevator too,,,this jet has a 'flying stab' and only one mini servo running it. This jet might need some Hitec HS-65MG servos,,,,we'll see!
I REALLY like this jet,,,but,,I'm in a holding pattern again for a servo.
They did handle the servo problem quickly,,,at least they say they are,,,we'll see how long it takes to get here!!

Glad to hear this might turn out alright for you. Without your persistence it might have been another story. KA and take names. You've probably already considered this, but while you're waiting on that servo: What about reinforcing the elevator, particularly since it's a flying stab taking all the weight on a moving surface, with some CF, if it looks at all weak? Adding that better servo, the HS65MG, might be the cheapest insurance you ever bought on that plane. Using a single servo and control rod on a plane like that just doesn't sound right and I wouldn't bet on the control rod not bending under the stress of a big maneuver. Can't wait to see how she flies!! Happy landings

Actually 19K,,,the stab looks very strong. And the servo control rod is about 5" long, it's a standard rod but they have it sleeved in a hard plastic tube,,,it pretty stiff,,I don't see it bending. But I am going to swap that servo with a HS65MG. The two stabs are hooked together on a 3/16" metal rod with the control arm in the middle. The control arm is pretty long to reduce the travel force, which means the servo arm might need to be long to get the throw I need. I'm guessing 8 to 10 degrees of throw should be plenty. It's going to be tricky setting the stab for neutral,,they have no refference for that. Other than not knowing how strong the stock servo is, it looks like a well designed elevator system.
I thought about leaving the 3 external tanks off it,,but they are very light and very strong,,,,I think they could handle a belly landing well if I have a gear failure. They screw on,,,so I think I'll start flying with them,,,if the jet needs more speed or power,,I'll take them off.
So,,far,,I'm excited over this jet,,,,really cool!

Sounds strong enough. You might want to go easy on the throws at first. Flying stabs don't need as much throw as a standard elevator to create big changes in aircraft attitude. Look forward to hearing about, or seeing your first flight. Happy landings

The saga continues; I got the jet tuesday,,identified a bad servo,,contacted BH,,servo on the way,,,,,yea right. Today,,friday,,I still didn't have shipping info on the servo,,,contacted BH,,,,,ooooops,,,the shipping department was waiting for the techs to inspect the bad servo before they will ship the new one,,,,,,geee,,,how they going to do that? They did not ask me to send in the bad servo. Big mix up,,,,go figure,,,,,they assured me that the new servo will ship immeadiately,,,,,UPS,,,,,since it's friday now,,,it won't ship 'til monday. SHOOT ME!!!! So,,,'maybe' a week from next monday,,I may have the sevo.
If this wasn't such an incredible jet,,,,I'd burn it and send the ashes to BH.
I have a headache!

What a bunch of bungling idiots. Any chance you've got some parts that might work in the broken servo?
Happy landings

The plot thickens,,,,again. I decided to use my own servo and try to finish this build. I put in a HS 65MG for the maingear retract,,,,,guess what,,,I need a 'reverse' servo. BH is supposed to be sending me a new servo,,,,how do they know which one I need? I didn't realize that one was reversed and they never asked me. I'm trying to get a hold of BH,,,it's been over an hour waiting for them to answer their 'live-chat'.
In the mean time,,,I DID have a servo reverser from another project so I installed that and finished the jet. I posted a video of it in the video thread.
I'll stay on-line waiting for BH to answer and see what the hell they are doing. This is reDICKulous!!!!
