Well I am not advancing with my flying skill's as much as I think that I should be I'm not crashing but I'm not advancing either the weather might be having something to do with it but I'm willing to give up flying in the winter yet if I joined the ama and the local flying club I could go up to the high school gym and fly in there out of the cold but i tried that before and ran into a lot of snobby pilots when it comes to heli's so I am not to excited to do it again So what I did was buy myself a late Christmas present (when in doubt throw more money at it) I purchased a new copilot to see if i can get over this dilemma ;D so now with the heli's I have I need to figure out which one to put it on I'm thinking about the copterx open to suggestions

Phil, it makes my blood boil when I hear of pilots being snobs. I'd like to come up there and give 'em a smack. REALLY GOOD pilots are humble, sometimes humble to a fault, so those guys must not be that good. Don't be intimidated by a bunch of jerks. Happy landings

Agreed 19k. There is one (yes, ONE) local heli club in my area that I managed to find after much searching. I emailed them, and granted they only have 12 members, asking for some more info. I received a reply asking what I fly, I responded "electric heli's"... the response was "sorry, we only fly nitro".... and that was that. What am I, a leper? Screw 'em. I learned everything I know so far by myself and through great forums such as this one, and I'll continue to do so with the assistance of you fine fellows ;D
Phil, I can sympathize. I was stuck in a hover for a while and eventually just went for it. Now I can do some forward flight and yeah, I crash. But that's what spare parts are for. Keep at it and you'll get to where you want to be. Good luck with the Co-Pilot!

What they don't get is; that while they can only fly at certain locations we electric guys can fly almost any time and anywhere. So, who's having the most fun? BTW, A kid came in from Wisconsin a couple of years ago with a 450 Align and kicked the nitro guys butts in a couple contests. Happy landings
