i use a piece of paper when i mesh the gears, i found this works ok. but is there a better way of doing this?

maybe my hair line, its getting thiner by the hour. ok so is there a better way?

Well everything I have read and researched has said the paper was best Now that that is said you could set a dial indicator up on a stand and when you read .o20 movement in the main gear it will be perfect or for expedience a peace of paper Personally I use eyeball and feel method close enough
