Got a nice little flight in with the Typhoon 2 this weekend. I did some heli flying too, but the head cam was pointing down too much and most of the flying was out of view of the camera. The only videos that turned out nice was this one and another where I crashed the 250. Anyways, I thought it'd be a nice post here in the new plank section. As you can see, I had some issues. I had the first little crash/landing, which was mostly on the landing gear, but when I took off again it started sounding funny. Of course, I just kept on flying, and it was doing fine until the end when I lost the throttle. I have to replace the main gear and the prop, but that's all. Starting to get those hovers working. I just ordered a kit to build an E-flight Enticement F3P today, so I should have some videos in the 3D foamie section pretty soon too.

Hovers and knife edge look good for early attempts with a new plane. Check your gearbox too. They crack fairly easily from a crash. My Enticement is still in the box. The weather has been too good for flying to spend anytime building.

Thanks 1900, I'm getting the hang of it. I pulled the cowl of only to find that the shaft of the motor broke! I've never had a motor shaft bust on me before. I had an old motor, so I just pulled the shaft out of it an put it in here. I've had this plank for a while now. Just recently got a new fuselage and put on the SFGs, so it was as good as new for this flight. I should have all of my parts for the enticement by Monday, and should have it built by the end of next week. I'm hoping for good weather next Saturday so I can fly it.

That's a new one on me. You'd think the mount would be destroyed before that would have happened. Well, good thing you found that on the bench.

That was freakin cool.I need one of those. Hells yeah, I love this plank, and it's only $160 for the PNP version: www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=PKZ4375It's one sturdy plank too. I had about 15 sticks of glue in the original fuselage before I bought a replacement for $25. I think the broken motor shaft is some kind of fluke, I've never had that happen to me before. I've seen some people upgrade the motor on this with a 480.

The 480 would be a nice upgrade and you could ditch the gearbox. Turnigy (HK/HC) makes a 35-42 that would also be a good upgrade for about $20.

I might end up doing that in the future 19k, as I have probably replace the gearbox 4 times now.
