Here is a flight from last weekend with the trex 250. There was a little wind, but not much: I eventually realized that the trimming in idle up was a little off compared to the normal mode, but that wasn't the problem. My problem came when I tried to fly in reverse. I had been practicing on the sim and was flying great backward with the 450 and 500, but damn, this little 250 flies quite a bit differently in reverse. I should have practiced reverse flight on the sim with the 250. I tend to fly a certain few helis in planks in there, I just forget sometimes. I hadn't flown the 250 in a while because the wind has been crappy too, so, it looks like it has some parts coming in this week, and I have some work to do. One strange thing about this crash was the tail. It caused the tail boom to curve instead of bend, which I've never seen before.

Wow that thing is QUICK!!
Now I know why I don't have a 250 or likely ever will!
No thanks. The 450 is on the hairy edge of too fast for me!
I'm glad you can fly that little monster, RCD! Kent

Did it hurt anything other than the tail boom?

Have to replace the tail boom, the tail gear shaft, tail linkage rod, and the flybar is a little bent, so I'm gonna replace that too. Everything else was fine. The head stock held up, the frame is perfect, and not even a crack on the skids of blades.
That's one great thing about the 250, the crashes don't cause nearly as much destruction as a larger heli.

WOW,,,,that was some very nice inverted hovering. Holding a 250 inverted is not easy,,at all. I'm impressed.
I got some real good weather coming tomorrow,,I'll be flying all day. I'll try and get a crash or two on video,,LOL. I'm sure I will if I try to hold an inverted hover for 2 minutes with the 250,,LOL,,,but I gotta try now!!

Go for it Elk, you can do it! The first time I had some crappy trimming too. Luckily I didn't get any gusts of wind.
Thanks for the nice comments guys.
It never really hurts as bad to crash this little baby, because it's usually pretty cheap to fix. Of course, my 0.9 mm hex driver is stripped, so I need to find another one of those before I can do the repairs.

Sweet! The nice weather is over the horizon. Once we get rid of this crappy daylight savings, I'll have enough daylight to get some flights in after work. Looking forward to the video Ern. I'll cross my fingers so there's no wind for you.
