Well, I was watching a Youtube yesterday. Of course it was a plane or a helicopter. What else is there? ;D
Anyway, the guy on the video pronounced Lipo as if the first part was "Lip". I've always pronounced it as if the first part was "Lie". Which way is correct?

I say it "Lie" but the battery is a Lithium polymer battery so it could go "Lip"......

Okay, I feel assured. I say LIEpo also, but I really don't spend a lot of time around people that know WTH they are talking about when it comes to RC. Until I heard it said "lip" I really hadn't thought about it.
Listen to this dude at around 25 seconds. He says it again at the end.

I pronounce it "Lippo"...It's LIthium Polymer, not LIEthium Polymer. That's how my brain works anyway but hey, I'm Canadian ;D

I want to see the East vs. West ;D Us westerners do everything differently to those easterners. Especially the ones with a Scottish background. ;D "Lie-Po" all the way. Same way as Ni-cad isn't pronounced nickadd Disclaimer: (Colin also knows I used to live in the east, not far from him, actually.)

Another one I thought of (not in the RC world) Lipid and Liposuction.

Hahahahaha I also say "lippo-suction"...but I am going to be honest and tell you that I am originally from England, been living in Canada for almost 15 years, so my dialect is probably messed up anyway.
Good point on the Ni-cad thing...never thought of that.

Since there's no "Lip" in Lithium it makes sense to me to pronounce the first part "L-I" and the second part "PO", because after you're in this hobby a while you're going to be very "PO".
;D

And not ones just from England. ;D "Lyposuction" and "Lippasuction". Who knows And yes, Dube, "battery" works too.
