I know, it's not a sooperdooper 3d build, but it is going to be a learning experience for me.

Looks like it's going to be a nice build. I'm not familiar with the Raiden servos. Any particular reason for selecting those?

Howsit Troy, Looks like a fun build. Builds are always fun for me, I like wrenchin' as much as flying. Remember to thread lock any screws that go into metal. If you're going to keep building these things you might as well take the head apart too. Check every screw that goes into metal. Pack the thrust bearings in your blade grips with grease. If you've not done it before this task may seem a little scary, but never trust the factory. Also, I use a towel underneath my builds because these micro screws can be extremely tiny. If one drops and hits a bare table it could literally go anywhere and you'll be ordering up extra screws from xheli. You should probably do that anyway. If you use a towel underneath when a screw drops it lands safely in the towel. Because I'm getting old, my eyes are getting bad, so I use a towel color that contrasts with my screws. I also wear a lamp on my head so I can get light directly on my target. I look like a coal miner, but at least I'm not twisting the heli around to get it in good light. There are many great how to's Here: www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=41692(if you haven't been there already) Even though there will be some differences in your head, you can still gain a lot of confidence in your builds by watching the videos. As long as you pull the concepts from the videos you'll be alright. I've never built one of these before so the only advice I can give I just gave. Have fun man.

The man in brown is scheduled to arrive tomorrow! Woohoo, can't wait to get started.
I picked them only because that is what is on my Genesis and they seem good to me, easily tunable with the Dx6i and in my limited experience I haven't had any issues with them.

Ok here we go. Servo's mounted, installed the cnc bearing holders and boom support. Can I mount the gyro flat on the boom support or does it have to be mounted standing up? Like this This is fun, just taking my time.

Troy Read your gyros manual to see what it suggests. If it didn't come with one, look it up on line to see if it has one. This is your best bet. If you can't find a manual, I'd say lay it down, plug your tail servo into it, then boot up. Then move your tail from side to side by hand. Check to make sure that the leading edge of your tail blades are pointing in the opposite direction of the way you move the tail. If so, It is correcting... correctly. If not, reverse the Gyro, and check again. If it still doesn't work the try it standing up like it is in the picture. If it works, you have your answer, but like I said, I'd read the manual first. Probably will save you some time.

Thanks Dooz, no manual with this gyro, I will try laying if flat like you said and doing the bench test with it, I have no problem mounting it standing up, just wanted a cleaner look is all.

Completely understand about the cleaner look. I think laying down would be more secure as well.

Build 99.9 percent complete, just need to adjust the pitch on the blades and tuck away the receiver.

No dice on mounting the gyro flat, no response that way.

I just noticed that the front servos are mounted wrong, they should go through the tray, then the pushrods will line up better. I mounted them the same as the Genesis, but these Raiden servos are bigger, they seem quicker also, just from bench testing.
