My T-Rex 500 is now Flybarless. I just installed the Align 3G FBL system,,,pretty easy!! Here's what comes with the kit,,,,doesn't look like much for $400,,LOL. Here I built the head. I took apart the feathering shaft,,,good thing,,it was lacking in lube and there was no lock-tite on the shaft screws. I built the linkages,,the swash linkages are taken from the exsisting setup. The kit comes with a flybar holder so you can adjust blade angles,,it is replaced with the head button after setup. The zip-tie swash leveling tool!! Here's the gyro sensor,,mount it just like a normal gyro! Here's the FBL Control Unit,,,,one small problem here,,,,all 4 servos plug into this. But the servos can be plugged in in both directions,,the polarity isn't labled and the manual doesn't address this. I wasted an hour on-line trying to get an answer to this. The plugs ground wires are installed to the back of the unit. Here's the finished product. The programming is quite easy,,,if you do your homework ahead of time,,,the complete programming can be done in 15 minutes,,including the gyro setup which is identicle to a GP750 or 780 gyro. Alls that is left is the flight test,,might be a couple days waiting on weather. I set it up as perfect as could be,,,servo arms at 90,,,swash level at 50% and 0 pitch. I used very minimal subtrim. You do not use ATV on this system, all pitch adjustments are done thru the swash-mix settings. I set it up with 12 degrees collective and 10 degrees of cyclic pitch. Very easy install and set up. I'll get the video camera going on first spool up and flight.!!

I can't wait to hear about this in flight!
You sure would think they would give you a whole new head for $400!

Getting a bunch of stuff gathered on the left side. Any balance issues? The 3G unit weighs next to nothing. The elevator servo and the BEC/Reg are on the right,,,I also cheat the receiver battery to the right a little,,,it's all good. There isn't much to a flybarless head,,,alls that is used from the old setup is the mainshaft,,swash and servo arm links. Looks like I'll have good enough weather tomorrow(Sun) for a test flight. The first flight will be just a hover and headspeed check. I'll probably have about 3 good timid setup flights before I smoke-check it,,LOL!!

10 degrees of cyclic and no flybar weight should be insane.

Beautiful Randy. I like how you put the lettering upside-down on one side of the canopy so you can read it inverted ;D Nice touch

Ha, you got some custom stickers too. Where are you guys getting those anyways?
Looks real nice there Randy, and that canopy is suweet! Can't wait to see how she flies.
I feel like an idiot now that I realize I could have use the HC Rigid I had as a flybarless electronics system. I had the capability to do flybarless all along and I sold the HC cause I thought I didn't need it... oh well.

I thought you had a Helicommand 3D. The Rigid doesn't work very well WITH a flybar.

Nope, I HAD a helicommand rigid, and it worked fine on the flybar 600 ESP that I had. When I sold the heli, I sold the HC as well. The rigid worked just fine on the flybar though. This was the setup I got from David a while back. You heard from him in a while Ern? I haven't.
