Tried some inverted flying today and when it got too high I completely lost the sky blue heli in the blue sky.Hmmmm.lol. It hit inverted on blacktop with some real speed. Almost no damage.Amazing. Broken blades. Bent pinion on tail motor. Broken tail blade. Bent main shaft. Stripped main gear. That's it.For real.lol.... Servos are good. One linkage was off but not broken. It hit HARD!!!!!!!I mean HARD!!!!! It didn't even ding the canopy but I will replacing it with a red one anyway.lol...

That's amazingly little damage!
And I wonder WHY IN THE WORLD these bozos put BLUE canopies on the SR and MSR?!?!?!?!?
I lose the MSR all the time in the sky. I bought a red canopy set for my old MSR and it was infinitely better, but that set is all torn up now. They are not cheap, either. Ugh.

Since it appears I'll be beating on this little heli,I might just spray paint the canopy bright orange or something. Probably change the tail color the same way.

The damage was incredibly light. It hit, like I said, inverted and backwards. Bounced off the blacktop and into a tree where it got tangled in the ivy vines. Here's how it looked when I picked it up.I just removed the blades.

Dang man, if you can't treat that thing any better then that I'm going to have to confiscate it. I'll even throw in the shipping cost just to save that poor things life. But really, that thing is pretty tough. I guess Eflite is really trying to make em resilient.

But really, that thing is pretty tough. I guess Eflite is really trying to make em resilient. I think there is a concerted effort to make tougher helis at Eflite. One of the things that keeps new pilots from working their way up the size and cost ladder is too many big crash repairs on the starter sizes in each category. They seem to have licked that with the mCX, mSR and now the SR.

The SR now has official Mckrackin Crash Certification. I guess the Marlboro's must have been the crash test dummy and they look fine ;D ;D Ray

Oh, you don't know how hard it is looking at McKr's and Elk's packs sitting there in the pics... I quit over a year ago, and I can tell you that I would give my right bolt to have just one smoke, right now. Ugh.

Got the SR airborne today. The Turnigy lipo and Pro II blades made it crazy, sick fast.
Had to adjust to a beginner pitch curve for a few batteries to get a grip on the speed and how hard it would touch down.
CRAZY!!!
I love it now. Turned out the main shaft wasn't even bent. Just an imperfection in the head.
So the crash cost was roughly $15.
The difference between the stock lipo and the new one is so drastic I refuse to use the stock one anymore. I have to adjust everything from the gyro to the throttle proportions when I change batteries.
I'll take $7 shipped for the E-flite 15C 1000mAH 3S lipo.
You guys with tail motor experience should warn a brother.lol.. I was carrying it by the head and turned it on its side. That made the pod and boom spin around and the tail motor kicked on wide open to compensate the spin.lol...Scared the crap outta me.
