Phoenix Electric Flight Expo

Here's some pics from today and the Electric Flight Expo in the University of Phoenix Stadium.

Heli-wise, the show was quite lame. Mainly because the show was set on the same weekend as the Las Vegas Fun Fly. There were no pro's on hand like last year, no Heli-Freak staff, and the show was quite a bit smaller. My kids even commented on how small it was compared to last year. I had my chance to become a planker, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

Empire Hobby based out of Apache Junction AZ (SE Phoenix), has sponsored the show for 3 years now. The Empire staff seemed to shrug it off as an economy issue, but the timing was not the greatest either. However, this is Friday and there are two more days of the show left, with the WWII Pearl Harbor re-inactment still left to do. I guess there's a chance more people will show... who knows.

Anyway, I took some pictures of what I found interesting, but I didn't end up with much.

X-era motor. He said they are very hard to come by, because the guy only makes a few at a time. It was smaller than my 600 motor. I was surprised that it handed the load.

He said that this was a two person operation. He flies and has another guy that operates the camera from this board.

Anyway, that's all that was interesting today... if I decide to go tomorrow... I'll take more pics.

Yep, I think I remember your dad talking over some of the video. It was great

That dude with the camera heli either has too much money or has a real interesting job.
