That's a NICE meter, Dube! Fluke 87-3 is almost the same as my Fluke 87-V! These are only good for 10 amps in direct current measurement mode. This is far too low. You will only blow the fuse in the meter, and these fuses are EXPENSIVE!!! You can get clamp on high current meters for the Fluke, but those are also expensive. I would recommend getting what I got a while back and that is the Watt's Up device. These can go in series on the RC machine and they measure voltage, current, power, peaks of all the above and can measure power usage over time. When you are not using it for flying, you can use it for a voltage meter for your batteries before flight. I always measure the battery voltage for flying anything these days, after one of my batteries crapped out a few months ago. The Watt's Up is an awesome tool! Here is a link to one at Tower. Lots of other places carry these. It's a lot cheaper than a Fluke and the voltage reads dead on with my Fluke. www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLMV0&P=FROh, and that tach is the same one I am using, from HC. You can check the accuracy by aiming it at flourescent lights. It should read 3600 rpm (60 hertz flicker)! These are digital, so should have no problems with accuracy. Kent

thanks for the input kent, i will look into getting one of those.
and your right on the tach with fluorescent lights, they recommend not to use them under those lights, as you will not get the right reading.
i used that tach on my tractors to, as we are not allowed more than 4500rpm for tractor pulling. fun little toy.
