Anyone got links to good setup videos on the DX6i Tx? I'm just getting into mine and I need to find out just what this can do.
TIA

I'm presently setup on the Neon FP, which is fairly basic, but still need to learn about throttle curves etc. The next heli I want to use the DX6i on is the EXI 450 which I'll build shortly. Just need to fork out another $50 on a 6100E

Here's a link to Finless Bob's setup videos. He uses different radios, but the concept is the same on the DX6i. Menu navigation is a little different on those. These are what I used to setup my Exi with the DX6i. I downloaded all of them. Worth their weight in gold! www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=11373Kent

Thanks Kent. I looked through his vids (several times) as I figured he'd done one on the Spektrum specifically. Good to know my eyes are still working ;D

Solitaire, did you get one of the $50 specials? I bought one of those, too! I also have a T-450 CF that I'll be building both of.
What parts are you planning on using in the Exi? Kent

Yep, I buckled. I wasn't going to broadcast it due to the recent upheaval, but...a deal is a deal.
I figured $50 was close enough to the $35 + shipping at HobbyCity. Besides, I've always wanted an EXI plus HC is out of stock. I really didn't want to do another 450, but it was too good to pass up. Plus I ordered the Volcano ESC and 2 Alpha 400 motors at the same time. I did read that XHeli is substituting something else on the motors, so we'll have to see what's up there.
Anyway, I'll probably use some stock that I already have (way too much inventory).
EK2-0508 servos on the cyclic HD2216HB on the tail G401B gyro Motor and ESC (as above) Blades from my Belt if the included plastic ones are trash AR6100E
Without the Rx, I'll still be around the $158 mark
BTW, did you mount your battery on the bottom rack or the top? I'm not anywhere good enough for 3D, so the bottom rack seems ok for sport flying with the ESC on top

I have decided to hold off and save for a DX6i for my T-REX 450SE V2 that I am getting in the next couple days. It will take me a while to put it together and get the electronics in it anyway so no hurry really! Anyway, where is the best (by that I mean the cheapest) place to get this setup from with the AR6200?
I was thinking earlier, dangerous I know, and what would be the limitation of getting a 5 channel one then if 4 channels controls the aileron, rudder, throttle etc, and a 5th could control the pitch. I figure I wouldn't actually miss a lot with 5 channels over 6??. Also the DX5 is only $99 with rx too. I guess being a really good 6CH ccpm heli as the T-REX is it would probably benefit more from the DX6i anyway wouldn't it to set pitch curves and such??

Sorry, you need six channels for a CP. I fly a couple of coaxials and a few planes off my LP5DSM spektrum which is similar to the DX5e. The 5th channel is a gear switch that can be used in an on/off application not as pitch...
Happy landings

That was just too good, and at least in the pictures the Exi sure looks a lot nicer than the one from HK. I also bought the Exceed motor and Esc! I haven't heard that they were substituting motors. Maybe that's why my order still hasn't shipped from the 10th? They charged my CC and also sent a tracking number the next day, but it still hasn't left. I also bought some of the Tower SG90's for cyclic during the deal, and I also ordered one of the G401B gyro's from deal extreme. I haven't bought a tail servo yet. I think I'll go with what you are using. Those sound pretty good. I also ordered a couple of the aluminum cases. $30 was pretty amazing for those. Great minds think alike! Kent

I know money is a factor, Kiwi, but I think the 6 channel Spektrum is worth waiting for. I got mine new off eBay for $102 last fall (Tx only). There are deals to be had on those.

Kiwi, 19k is right. You need the entire six channel set to fly these. Kent

Thats what I figured, just always trying to find different ways and save money, then again if I wanted to save moeny I wouldn't have started this hobby ;D. I will get the DX6i and AR6200 in next couple weeks when I save up the money. Blown my heli budget on this new T-REX but at least the HBFP can keep me entertained in the meantime.

Kent
I got a couple of those cases last fall during the sale. I can use more, but shipping to Canada is a b**ch. At $26 each during that sale, it was worth it.
The stupid part was I chose UPS which was the cheapest ($40 for two cases plus one heli) but XHeli sent it USPS which cost them $82 in postage. I noticed they did the same thing with my last order. Oh well, it's their money.

Wow! $82 in postage! Those guys need a new shipping person!!
I wonder if they might have changed shipping methods with my order? Did yours get shipped out from last week's sale?
Humm, Kent
