Not sure how much on 1280x1040, but a bigger SD card is probably pretty cheap. The quality will be lowest with 320x240, medium with 640x480 and highest with the 1280x1040. I don't know if you will like 320x240. Might be too low quality. I would think 1280x1040 would be real sharp.

You'll use up the 2 gig pretty fast at 1280x1024. Maybe a minute or two. I'd try the lowest setting (320x240) first just to see how much video you'll get on that card. Then you can decide which resolution to use and what size of card you'll need for a decent length vid.

depends on your use, if you want youtube, go 640 if you want home movie go 1280 and depending not so much on the resolution but the frame rate your probably gona get 1-2 hours on a 2 gig card. at the medium setting. its hard to tell not knowing the codec the unit uses to produce the video to, is it mpg vid or divx or?
while the card size helps you also need to know the max size the cam can take some can only see 2 gig, also is this a straight cam with card, or does it have a tape or disc? because multi cams use disc or tape for vid, and sd cards for still pics... however if yours is straight sd, and can handle up to 4 gig i would suggest 2 of them price is 15-25 bucks depending on where you get them. i think wallmart has them for around 15-20 each.
now here is the key point to remember. DO NOT EVER FILL THE CARD UP.... always stop using the card at the 85%-90% mark. this is with all cards even for still cameras.... this is a little known fact. BUT.........
all these cards have a good possibility of dumping if maxed to 100% as in you filll them get home try to get the images off and there is nothing on it. the safe zone is no more then 85%.. now if your recording at low enough resolution i would suggest 70% just to be extra careful.
now a trick take the little boxes the cards come in, and paint one black. and leave one clear. keep empty card in the clear one, and full card goes in black. helps you remember which is full. if your only using 2 keep one in the camera at all times, cause you can just turn it on to check whenever you are unsure.
ok and it goes like this in sizes...
kb = is a kilobit mb = megabite gb = gigabite tb = terabite
so 1024 bits make a kilobit 1024 kb = 1 mb 1024 mb = 1 gb 1024 gb = 1 terabite
however lots of times the 24 part is missing. so a terabyte drive is only 1000 gigabites.
your ram is measuerd in mega bites or giga bites depending on how much you have and your hard drives are gig or tera bites.
so 100k is very small more like a large text file like all this text i just typed is only 2.3 kb
and a video at 640 res will probably be like 4gig per 2 hours but again thats dependant on the codec used to encode with as its recorded.

yah its cool, just keep a eye on it, those cards can wear out, im not sure how many deletes they are good for. never had one fail yet, but if your using very little space on the card, id just add to it till your at 70% to decrease the amount of deletes on it.
