I know there are some of you who have their own scales. I'm curious about what kind, what the weight limit is and about how much it costs. I wouldn't mind having one, but it would have to be cheap. Bet I could get one at the police auction ;D Trivia: Did you know a nickel weights between 4.7 and 5.0 grams? Did you know a nickel is often heavier than a quarter even though a quarter is supposed to weigh in at around 5.678 grams? Did you know a dime is supposed to weigh half as much as a nickel? My newest foamie with bare foam and no electronics weighs in at 2 nickels, 1 dime and 7 quarters. For those of you who took advanced math in 3rd grade, you should be able to tell me the weight of my foamie ;D

TRIVIA: Did you know you repeated yourself up there ? ;D TRIVIA: Your plane weighs less than a humming bird but more than a fruit bat. I bet you two nickles, one dime and 7 quarters you have too much time on your hands. ;D

Heehee!!
That would be a mighty heavy humming bird or a fruit bat.
Best I can tell, a hummingbird weighs a little less than a nickel. The Mexican Fruit Bats that we have in Texas weigh in at about 2 quarters.
BT, 1.8 ounces seems very light. That's the same as a whole huge family of hummingbirds, or several of them thar bats!

Yeah, I figured Kent would do the math (and Sol, too. Where is Sol anyway?)
BUT I distracted you from the real question. Who has scales and what kind and capacity?

Just got back from an extra long weekend, so I missed all the math excitement. Besides, WTH do I know about what a gnat weighs ;D BT, I have two similar scales to this one. One has graduations in .1g to 1kg and the other in .01g to 300g. I use the more accurate one for weighing blades and the other for weighing larger items. Both have worked well and are certainly cheap. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280418944342&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

The 0.01 gram digital scale I also bought off of Ebay for next to nothing. It works great. Mine looks like a CD case. I always thought that part was odd.
My larger scale goes up to 6 kilograms at a 0.1 gram resolution. This is a 'My Weigh' Chinese scale that has been great. I don't remember where I bought it. I've had it for several years. Kent

Thanks for the input guys. I have a couple marked on ebay. I'll probably get one when I get a few extra bucks. I wasn't sure if scales that cheap were worth a crap, but seems like you have had pretty good luck with them. Now, Dube and Fire, I have no idea what you are talking about Kent, I can ask the guy at work who told me about using nickels as calibration tools. I'll bet he will know exactly why it is disgussed as a CD case. ;D
