My wife suggested I get this for my early fathers day gift! God I love that woman! A guy in my rc club built this. Mini Telemaster. It is currently set up with: Exceed 450 Motor and Volcano 25A ESC, a Electrifly 11.1V/3-S/25C/1600mah li-po. Four HiTec servos, Two HS81's for elevator and rudder, two HS55's for the ailerons.

Bonus! The receiver is JR -AR500 2.4Ghz full range w/the extra aileron port, so it will bind with my Dx6i!

Sweet deal man! Practice on that sim first! Dude, that is what I have been doing tonite, already doing landings pretty easily. Planes are easier than a heli, on the sim at least. No way is this going to take away from my heli training, just wanted more options

Those telemasters are nice planes and if you like that design they make them in up to 8' wingspan. If the balsa doesn't work out for you Eflite makes the apprentice which is a good aileron trainer. secure.hobbyzone.com/EFL2900.html

It is balsa, but Tom deviated from the design a little and did some reinforcement braces on the inside of the fuselage. Very nice build.

For some reason my old post here is gone. Humm..
Anyway, Troy, there is a reason the Telemaster has been around for 25+ years! It is a really stable plane that is a perfect trainer. Even beyond that, these just fly amazingly smoothly.
I hope you build up an 8' version some day! Kent

A guy in my club just finished stick building a 12' Telemaster from a kit. Took him 3 years... . Hobby Lobby has a ARF for a 12 footer too. I saw this one fly at the fly in I went to last weekend. Actually this video was shot at that fly in.

Phew, that's a big plane for electric power. But, I guess he didn't build it as a speedster.

Thanks Tony, I'd forgotten about the 12 ft. ARF at HL.
Did you catch that "clank" when he spun up that motor? ;D

Back years ago, the first plane I learned to fly on was a glider. One of the guys in the the club I belonged to at the time used his nitro telemaster that he had added a glider mount on to get my plane way, way, way up in the sky.
