I will get a 6 channel, but maybe 7 channel. Which radio do you suggest? I have allowed for 2 choices per person incase you are not sure which you like most. If you can please post the pros and cons on each radio you have used. Thanks guys.

I vote Spektrum for product service and tech support alone.

I only have experience with the Spektrum and older Futaba radios.
I really like the 2.4ghz DSM2 technology of Spektrum. JR owns Spektrum and also uses that technology. I run exclusively Spektrum gear on over a dozen helis and planes. I have never had so much as a single glitch from anything.
My older 72mhz Futabas were excellent too, with no issues. Kent

I love the Spektrum radios. The DX6i is a little cheap-looking and the trim tabs are a weak point, but for the price it's unbeatable.

I vote Spektrum for product service and tech support alone. I second that.

If you are anticipating only needing 6 or 7 channels, then Spektrum is a good choice. I have two DX6i's (one for planes and one for helis) and they've worked flawlessly since the recall fiasco.
If you anticipate getting into more than 10 heli/planes, then the DX7 would be the one to get with a 20 model memory. I believe the screen on the DX7 is larger as well.
I can't comment on any others since Spektrum is the only programmable radio I've tried.

Only tried Spektrum. Can't speak for the other companies.
