Well guys, I ordered all the stuff from Grayson Hobby and RC Powers to make my first foamie! I chose the F-22 since you guys seemed to have a lot of luck with the version you were using.
The plans called for 6mm depron! I also got the Super Mega Jet combo and a 6x5.5 prop.
The supplies should arrive on the 26th!
WOO HOO!

Congrats Gabe. Kent and I built our F22's out of EPP foam which is a lot more forgiving than Depron. I built the RCPOWERS F-117 and it flew great. Being Depron though it wasn't too forgiving if I got the landings wrong. Hope you have better luck.

A while back, I bought the plans for the RC Powers F-22. It builds a nice looking jet, but it is depron and it is very brittle. I'm not very good at precision cutting this foam, and the RCP F-22 requires that. There are a lot of parts and you have to form them in places, which doesn't lend itself to dimensional errors. If you can swing it, I would recommend buying their laser cut kit. It will come out much more straight (than I can cut it at least) and certainly fly better. About this time is when I learned about EPP, so I never flew the RCP version. The RCP version should be faster, and it certainly will look better up close. I can guarantee that you won't be able to tell much from the air! Oh, and Gabe, I also bought one of those Super Mega motors. I don't yet know what I'll stick it in!

Wow Kent, those are really similar. I only went with the RC Powers Depron version because I've never scratch built before and I'm a sucker for connect the dots style plans.
Which Mega motor did you get? Did you actually contact Mega and buy one from them?

I bought the Super Mega Jet V2 also, but I haven't put it in anything yet.
The other I thought said Mega somewhere, but it says Super Sonic. It is the GH2216-06 motor. I have that in the go fast F-22. It flies great with a 6x4. Kent

Ah cool man. I bought the Super Mega Jet V2 as well for the F-22.
I thought for a moment you were talking about the actual company, "Mega" that built my Stryker motor. I was thinking that would be one supa-dupa-fast foamie!
