I had my second and more flights today of a plank in the last 25 years! My first plank flight was a couple of weeks ago with the Ultimate.
Then I decided I wanted to find something that I could hand launch in our dried up lake bed. So I bought a ParkZone P51 BL (brushless version). This was my first ever hand launch, too!
I just revved it and gently tossed it. I was amazed as it just gently went airborn! It didn't do anything bad at all. This has to be one of the smoothest flying warbirds ever. It doesn't stall at all and it flies very scale like. My first belly landing missed the grassy patch and hit some rocks. I thought it hit pretty hard, but there are only a few scratches on the bottom! Amazing.
I flew several more batteries through it and the later landings were right on the grass! No damage!
Anyway, after flying helis, these things really are pretty much no brainers to fly.
I am VERY impressed with this P51! Kent

Congrats Kent, I thought you'd like the 'stang.
Just to make it more interesting fly it inverted a foot off the deck or do knife edges at the same altitude. Yeeha! ;D
Happy landings

Yeeha! ;D Happy landings Well, low inverted will be another few batteries! I don't have a rudder servo yet, so knife edges will be a while later, too! But I have done quite a few low passes and the lines look awesome on this thing! I think your guess of 50mph is about right. It's also a very nice speed to fly this at, as it doesn't zip passed you too quickly. I LOVE flying this thing! It's my plank reaquaintance bird! I did fly the Ultimate once, and it is incredibly smooth, but it is also far more touchy. So, it will sit for a while. Next flights will have the throws increased a bunch. Best, Kent

Definitely; you'll want the rudder.
I never tried knife edges with the stock prop. Not a 100% sure the prop has enough authority for it. It's kind of fluttery.
If you put the T-28/Corsair prop on it it will be substantially faster.
I'm going to try a MAS 10x7 3 blade on it/
Happy landings
