Well the postman (actually woman) just bought me my shiny new T-REX 450SE GF kit and I'm almost gonna mess myself like a hippo in a waterhole with excitement. Had a quick check through and those guys at Align pack so much stuff into a small metal case its amazing! Have taken a quick shot of it next to the HB and the case is about the size of the little heli. Anyway, I will be getting it all out later and laid out for some starting shots before I start the long task of putting it together. The guys at KA Planes did a great job packing it up. Even though its in a metal case they put it in another box with styrofoam packaging, no chance of anything breaking really!! Well must go and get things underway, will hopefully have some shots in my build thread in the next day or two for you all to look at. This is gonna be fun ;D If you have any questions as I go please feel free to ask away, thats the whole point of posting this. The other electrics should be here in the next couple days (Servos and gyro).

Very Nice! .... build forum time? If you can't put up the pics remember to send them to me. Going to work in a few so it will be about 11 hours from now, before I can get to them.

Thanks. It will likely be tomorrow before I get the shots up anyway. Will take a bunch and then go through them and pick out the good ones then email them through to you. Have fun at work, I gotta go feed the horses soon and try not to get bitten, good times...

Lucky!!!, looking forward to your photos. Did you get it from KA? I don't know how to fly that baby, but it sure is a good deal. Maybe I could get one to look at, or for a paper weight until I learn to fly!

Yeah it's from KA Planes. It really was a good deal as I mentioned before as the closest I found it anywhere else was the $380 that they usually sell it for. It really is a top of the line brand and you get a lot in the kits. I haven't had a huge amount of experience with building and flying either but this is the way to learn. I will just take it slow and there are a lot of knowledgeable guys here to turn to if I get stuck. I say get the kit while the goings good, I only just fly my HB round with basic proficiency and a couple of small tricks, so this is a big step for me. Like Ben Stiller said on Starsky and Hutch, "Do it, Do it!!!"

Well I have started building the beast up. All the parts are really well made and the screws are nice and strong and don't strip easily like the ones on the Guru-Z kits. The parts are in bags labelled to correspond to each step in the instruction manual so it is actually not too bad to follow. You even get a half decent tool kit and some glue and lock-tight, nice touch. The schematics are a little intricate in parts, but my history with servicing and fixing scuba gear has helped me with schematics. If you are somewhat technically proficient then this isn't a hard build, just looks daunting to start with. Anyway, taking lots of photos so will have the first part of the build up in a couple days once I have figured things out and got the photos ordered and explained. Good times ;D

Funny.I am a project manager/superintendent by trade. I build schools for a living. 114 miles of wiring,10,000 yards of concrete,21,000 tons of stone, and over a million bricks and blocks and 500 men and women working hard to get it all to work.
Why are these little helis so difficult?

Why are these little helis so difficult? They are like women...if they were all easy, they wouldn't be that fun. Got to have a few easy ones to keep you going and a few other ones to keep you challenged! ;D ;D
