It's killing me! My new HBFP was in Greensboro (about 2hrs away) at 10am this morning but I won't get it till tomorrow.
Already have 4 2S 800mah packs charged and waiting so I will probably be on here tomorrow night begging for help to piece it back together.

Thats cool Tony. Anticipation is half the fun. Makes you feel like a kid again. Dont forget to set it up properly before you fly.

Waiting here too... always. You should start buying some parts now, get them in the shipping process. A few main shafts, a couple ring-like pushrods, a hub or two, skids if you keep them stock, a gear, extra set of blades or you can buy another complete airframe for 34 dollars (no electronics).
I would suggest scooting the heli first. But if you can't be that patient (I wasn't), don't be afraid to give it some throttle to get it in the air. On a full battery, somewhere around mid stick you should lift off. Around 3/4 stick for a steady 2 to 3 ft hover. If you baby the stick you'll drift left and back and crash. That usually wont produce any damage, but it could. You'll find that the blade grips pop off the hub quite easily. This will scare you at first, but really it saves your heli from major parts breakage. If that happens, don't just pop it right back on. Check and make sure all the linkages (pushrods) are ok and not binding, then pop it back on. You can do this by lining up the bearings on the hub with the mounts in the grips, then push down...with some care. Kind of scary at first, because your worried about breaking it. I know a lot of people that leave their blades loose, while I don't tighten them down all the way, I do tighten them like nuttcaze suggests. If you haven't watched any of the Nuttcaze vids... start watching his set up videos now. The set up on these isn't very complicated, but you do want to try and level your swash. You may have to do this with your trims.
I hope I didn't overstep my boundaries here, I just know that I really didn't take the time to do any of this when i first got my helis. No one explained this to me because I didn't know I what to ask. I'll help more if I can.

I took it out of the box, gave it a quick once over, and strapped on the training gear. I was planning to just hop around but like you said Doozer I just couldn't resist getting a little air. I just did a somewhat controlled hover with a little forward flight mixed in, in about a 15'x15' area for the entire pack. I guess the co-axials and 6 months on the sim really paid off...atleast so far.
I've got some vibration that looks to me to be more than it should be but maybe not. The balls on the training gear are bobbing pretty good, but only in certain rpm ranges. In a head high hover (maybe 75-80 percent throttle) is the worst. What do you guys think?
And no you did not over step anything Doozer, I appreciate any and all help I can get.

2 Packs down and still nothing broken. It did get away from me once but I was able to practice on my "creative landing" skills and managed not to break anything
I got some of the vibration out though. It came out of the box with a piece of white tape on one of the rotors so I assumed (you know what happens there) that the blades were balanced. Needless to say, they are not. The rotor with the white tape was tracking lower than the other so I took off the tape and it is better but not perfect. Will balance them before the next pack.
This "fecal matter" is fun!!!

Hey Tony,
The four things I have found that cause the most vibration are;
1. Dont run your blades too lose. Not real tight either.
2. Balance your blades.
3. Check your tracking.
4. Balance the heli (if flying with training gear- balance it with the gear on) As long as your swash is level, and your dont have anything bent or cracked, this should take care of it I think.

Yeah, I loosened up the blades a little and that helped some too. Still got a little vibration but nowhere near what it was.
Now 4 packs in and this is only getting sweeter. I was able to relax a little and un-pucker the hinny a tiny bit on the last pack and things went much more smoothly.

Be careful with the tight a$$ thing. If you have a bad crash, you might do as Doozer's pic says, and poop a little. ;D ;D ;D

I don't need an intervention, I already know I'm an addict. I'm trying to spread this disease and get one of the guys at work hooked too. Only problem is he is cheap (or scared of his wife...not sure which) and wants me to give him one of my co-axials. Has he lost his flippin mind??? No self respecting addict gives up his stash.

I've been having a great time with my HB lately. Getting into some good forward flight and some figure eights now. Helps that I have had a huge indoor horse arena to practice in, no wind at all, love it. Housesitting for the people that own in so I am spending plenty of time flying right now. One thing I found that makes it easier to get the HB up and going is to power that sucker straight up, no messing about and it has no chance to slide round. Anyway, enjoy and keep us all posted on how your flight skills go. Its so much fun when you get that thing doing what it is supposed to.
