Hi Guys! This thread was a big help with my extended shaft installation. Anyway, after a few days of flying my big lama, my friend noticed that there was a screw missing on my xtreme extended shaft. The thing is, I don't remember getting any screw with the extended shaft when I got it and I've just checked the normal shaft but there was no screw for it. So I was just wondering what this spot is for or am I really missing a screw for this? Attached is a picture so if you can just enlighten me with this one and it'll be great. Since I saw this hole I am now nervous to fly my heli because it might fly apart. Thanks and I'm gonna look forward to anyones input. Thank you...

I don't have that heli, but if there is a grub screw on the other side opposite that hole you should be OK. If not I think you might need a screw.

I cannot tell by the picture but 19000 is correct you are missing a setscrew I would not fly it without one that locks the top rotor head to the shaft.. Ray

Wow, Ray, you're the first American to call it a "set screw". I'd never heard of a grub screw before getting into helis. ;D
Anyway, yes, there is only one set screw in the Xtreme shaft and it needs to be there as it holds the fancy extended part to the inner shaft. A 3mmx4 set screw should work.

In the midwest you hear a lot of slang terms for things when I was in the machine shop there was quite a few people who would come in to purchase nuts and bolts but instead of calling them nuts they referred to them as Burr's ;D Ray

Thanks 19000, Ray and Solitaire for the quick response. Because of that I have checked it and found a set screw in it. Thanks again.

So ok, everything was working fine but this happens every time I do a fresh charge of battery and flying it for almost 5-6 minutes straight. Then the heli just starts spinning (as seen in the video) and drops on the ground. ;D It flies again if I attempted to fly it right away but it'll be less than a minute and does the same thing again.
Could this be because the motor is overheating? Because every time this happens I'm checking the motor and it is super hot! But my problem is I'm viewing a lot of big lama videos on youtube, when their motor is overheating the heli just drops on the ground and doesn't make a fast turn before it falls.
Or could this be the gyro? Any inputs would be great.
I made this short video just for the purpose on showing you guys what happens to my heli.

I cannot see the video but the carbon brush motors cause the most trouble on that machine me thinks you should get rid of them in favor of brushless.. Ray

If you're absolutely sure there is no slippage in the lower rotor power train, then I would agree with Ray...a weak motor.
Brushless is a bit of work to get running smoothly, but you won't have to worry about motor degradation anytime soon.

Alright just as I thought. Well im planning to go brushless but not after like two weeks of having the bug lama. But it's understandable, because i've been flying it as often as i can... Haha. Thanks for all your replies...
