Well finally decided to start building the hk500gt being bored home from work the build was going good until I started to put main rotor head system in ;D it seems the one way bearing is carp it is too tight wont spin freely you can spin it with a little force but not really acceptable for flying but anyway installed the main shaft and found out the main shaft bearings are really noisy so they will need replacement ;D Well am hoping the rest of the build goes better

Looks like a decent price for those bearings been looking at ceramic bearing's for a while now If memory serves me right AKENT is using those type of bearings maybe he can talk about them a little Well the knight head bars are carp also the metal ends don't glue on very good as all 4 of them come off in my fingers so need to reglue them or replace them ? Hmmm Just a side note I built my copterx today also and didn' t have any of these issues Right now I am favoring the copterx heli's

I'm actually now running Align main bearings on the 500.
I do like the idea of those ceramics though! If they are of a reasonable quality, they should last forever.
I'm also using a little of the Scorpion motor bearing oil in the main bearings. I think that may be why these have lasted. I oil them at the same time as the motor, or after about 10-15 flights. I don't think you need to oil ceramics, but I could be wrong.
Also, if your HK500 is like the Exi, the gears might not be very good, either. Mine were warped. I went with Align gears.
It's really good that you are catching those problems, AKPhil!

One thing is for certain. Once you get that 500 flying, you might never want to fly anything smaller!
I think the 500 is the perfect size. It fits nicely into any vehicle, uses relatively cheap batteries, has cheap replacement parts (compared to larger helis) and it flies like it's on rails!
Anyway, that's what I have found. Kent
