The guys over at Hobbyzone asked me to put a plane together for display in the store. They had a damaged Nieuport 17 that they think will look good taking up some airspace over the display racks. Anywho, I put it together in a couple of hours. This is one good looking scale type slow flyer. Lots on nice detail and the only fussy part of the build was stringing the wing and that didn't take all that long. Thanks, Grandma for making me thread all those dang sewing needles for you when your eyesight started to fail. I didn't fly it because they chose not to include any power or electronics. I think it will fly well when fully equipped. Very light weight and should be good in a yard or indoors. secure.hobbyzone.com/EFL1950.htmlI think I may add it to my own fleet next season.

Yes, the D7 is a beauty too. I think they made some basic changes in how it comes from the factory and the assembly required by the builder from the previous models like the Nieuport making the D7 an even better plane.

What's this...Ray is getting into planes? Horizon has a few videos on the 3 channel bi-planes, one of which goes into the stringing of the wings. Not a lot of detail, but a bit of an aide, nonetheless. If you don't mind listening to that Booker character.

I was into planes since I was 10 my last one I built was always my favorite was the Folker D7 with a 6' wing span and a four stroke OS engine. It was all wood and Monakote and get this the latest Futaba AM radio at the time it had a bandwidth so wide I think it is illegal now. It swung a 16" prop for break in of the engine big fun I always built world war one aircraft to me they where the best looking aircraft and there attention to detail was really something.. Ray
