Futaba just emailed me and asked if I was sure I was trying to download 64bit drivers and I assured them I was. I really didn't want to just push buttons and hope for the best

when you start the install program, right click it and select run as admin. sometimes that is the issue. beyond that i would need more direct info to assist you. also are you sure your system is 64bit? a laptop could be 32bit proc to check this goto start menu and right click computer and select properties it will tell you which system you have 32 or 64. also found this... downloads.hobbico.com/software/fut/driver_eng-s.pdfone thing i did see also was some said you can install fine on xp, so if you got a xp machine still id try that. also if you can get it installed and drivers assigned you might be ok, however if it does crash which some did say you can goto the program and run it in xp mode by right clicking the program, selecting properties and finding compatability. so far the hardest thing is the driver it sounds ... to manually install it have the driver located somewhere where you can find it. goto control panel, hardware and sound (if you see it if not skip this), device manager. then find the item it will have a yellow cirlce maybe near something, what you want to do is find ciu2 and manually install it from there if your having only driver issues. anyways hope this helps...

Hey thanks Coffin I actually have those directions on my puter and I can get right to the point of installing the drivers manually and then it says fail to download drivers yes I am pretty sure the puter is a 64bit machine Yes I actually tried the 32 bit drivers just in case label was wrong
If I right click on the start button to check all it gives is task bar info on property's
I do have a xp machine but the problem with that one it is really hard to take to flying field with the generator and all. ( LOL) and I do have it loaded on that machine but would be nice to have it on laptop

lol goto start menu on right side ya should see computer right click computer and select properties. from what i read the driver does not install properly so ya have to do it manually. just find the ciu2 item in device manager and update the driver, browse for the one you downloaded, if your having issues with just downloading it, you could google the driver by name and see if there is another place to download it.

lol the company that sells the item supplies the driver even if its made by someone else. its rare and hard to find a direct link to the producer of the driver. however the offical site might give you info about the driver. maybe check the manual about installing it, and see if it mentions the driver maker. or software maker ..

lol that sucks i bet theres a way to get it to work. guess ya need to get a older pc, just for heli stuff running xp ... get like a 2gig proc 3gig ram decnet video and dedicate it to heli stuff and flight sim. probably find a good tower on craigslist for like 100, then buy a kvm switch so ya can use one monitor mouse and keyboard for both towers. if ya want to keep the cost down ...
