Here is a warning for anyone running high powered planes and contemplating the use of the Turnigy NanoTech batteries:
Plane: Funjet Ultra Battery: 6s Power: 2,300 watts peak
With conventional Lipos, I could fly fast passes until the power would start to drop off. That's how I learned to land. It just starts to slow down.
With the NanoTech batteries, there is no power drop off until the battery is GONE!
I am running a Castle Ice 100 in this Funjet and once it does the warble (wah-wah-wah-wah) quickly, it's too late. There is no power to even come around once at low throttle.
I know that as once I was able to land fine, but last weekend, the warble happened and I was too far out. It smacked a tree.
I am still shocked at the Ultra. The battery was about 50 feet from the plane in the tree. The canopy was in the next tree. The wing hit a branch and no more moving forward!
But it wasn't that bad of damage! I was blown away! It just dented the wing leading edge in about 3/4". I poured boiling water over it and it actually came back some. It's not perfect, but I think it is flyable.
I hope to fly it soon.
Note that that smack would have shredded a normal Funjet!
Just an FYI on NanoTech batteries. Kent

Well, that didn't turn out so bad. The ultra proves it'self again. Good heads up on the Nano. I haven't used those batteries yet. If I do, I'll put it on a timer for sure.
