Just keep in mind rc that at this time Eric is the only support person that they have answering pm's on their forum. Poke him in a day or two and remind him. He is a good guys and he will take care of you if you are patient with him.

Nice cheap build, RC! I hope you get your servo issues taken care of soon. Kent

Honestly, X-Heli is a good source for buying parts and putting a build together for cheap. However, as components break, I find it's easier just to upgrade to reliable parts or order new ones from them rather than deal with customer service.
You're really getting what you pay for. It took me two years to realize that through trial and error though. I'd cave and buy some Align DS420's for the cyclic. They work great on my EXI. No problems and they are incredibly fast and responsive.

Thanks guys. Eric finally did come through and send me a tracking number. We'll see when it gets here. Ive only gotten to fly it 3 times so far. I should order a metal head and tail for it eventually. So far Im happy with the way it flies.

Ok well after my dx6i deleted all my exi 450 settings, a glitch or something I think caused it. I figured now would be a good time to set my exi 450 up the right way. Before I had it setup fine for normal flight but when I flip the switch into 3d mode at bottom stick the swashplate bottoms out to where it cant move left to right and front to back.
My question is should I adjust the exi mechanically some how or change one of my dx6i settings, and if so, what? Thanks.

I think getting it setup mechanically first is the way to go, basher, if you have enough left in the servo-to-swash links. You can always fine tune it in the radio afterwards with the swash mix settings.

Definitely do it mechanically first. Use Heli Freak and Finless Bob's tech videos to help you out. Then, fine tune it with the DX6i. Should be a snap. You'll be amazed at how much better she flies once the swash is set up properly. I know I was.

Yep, if you get the swash set up right mechanically you're almost all the way home.

Thanks guys. The servo to swash links though are about as far out as safely possible and the swash still sits to low. Ill figure it out.

I think I know my problem now. When I installed the cyclic servos I mounted them on the outside instead of the inside because the exi servos that I bought have little tabs on the mounts that prevent them from being mounted on the inside. So the servo to swash linkages arent exactly vertical and they sit at an angle. On the next tear down of the exi 450 Ill fix it.
The replacement Exi servo came Friday and I got it installed. I stretched the Exi 450s legs yesterday and did some FFF. So far I have about 10 flights on the exi 450 and I like the way it flys.

I had that same issue with the EXI servos. It didn't affect flight at all for me. Mild 3D was just fine.
