I received the parts that I needed yesterday and stayed up to 1 in the morning working on the Exi 450. One of the 4 exi 213f servos that I got doesnt work. So now I get to see how xhelis customer service is. Im using a Esky digital servo for now, until I get another one. I was able to get the Exi 450 in the air for under $100 which was my main goal. My setup is as follows- radio-Dx6i receiver-AR6200 motor-Exceed rc alpha 400 esc-Exceed rc 30 amp esc cyclic servos-Exi 9g 213f digital metal gear tail servo-Esky 8g digital servo(temporarily) gyro- Exceed rc g2s gyro I maiden my Exi 450 this morning and it flies great. Havent tried anything but hovering though, I still have to fine tune it. I painted the canopy fluorescent orange so I wont have a problem with orientation. Here it is Attachments:

You got that together pretty quickly, basher. My builds seem to take months, normally.

Thanks Dave. Wont be doing any flying today, we're under a lake effect snow warning and supposed to get a foot of snow.
I wonder what I should do about this Exi d213f servo that doesnt work, sometimes when I hook it up and turn it on it centers like its going to work but then never reacts to stick input. It doesnt have any resistance when its turned on either. Probably send it back to Hobbypartz and hope I get a replacement.

Maybe go on RSDiscuss and talk to Andy or whoever and plead your case. They may not want it back.

Thanks guys. I think Ill shoot rcdiscuss a post and see what happens, Andy isnt in customer service anymore, they have this new guy named Eric.
But this servo is a mystery I plugged it into my rc car and it worked fine... for 10 seconds then it quit working like before. Im half tempted to take it apart it could be something simple like a bad solder joint. That would explain why it sometimes works and sometimes not. I know most manufacturers it voids the warrenty but Hobbypartz wont know the difference if I took it apart or not.

If it were me I would get with Eric before cutting into the servo there rc and if he says he will send you a new one and to just trash the old one then I would go for it.

I agree with Dave. Besides, those micro boards are too small to solder.

To late I took it apart last night and none of the wires were unsoldered. I think its a bad circuit board, when I turned it on the servo would work for a couple of seconds then stop working, I checked the temperature of the board and it was 190*F. If I let the servo cool down by turning it off then plug it back in then it would start working again for another few seconds. Time to contact Eric.

I just got done talking to Eric and he is sending me a replacement servo asap, and he didnt request me an rma # so I guess I dont even have to send the old one back.
Also do you guys know if when you post your order number if anyone else besides xheli can see your order?
Darn, just looked at my email and they sent me an rma requesting that I send the servo back.

Nobody else can see your order, just your order number. Unless they've changed things in the last few months. I haven't been there in a while.
Was looking to buy something during their Black Friday Sale, but anything that interested me was sold out already, plus the selection was poor.

Well Eric at Hobbyfartz isnt very reliable, yesterday I asked if the servo had been shipped, and Eric replied "I will give you the tracking number today." After waiting around for 4 hours, he still hadnt emailed me or pmed me a tracking number, so then I asked if he could email me a tracking number, he said no problem, well today and 24 hours later he still hasnt sent me a tracking number. He is really quick to send out an rma but not so quick to send a tracking number. I never sent this other servo back, he never asked for it. Ill wait around for a few days to see if a servo shows up.
