New tail feathers

Getting hard to see these helis nowadays.
It started with Colins Trex 250.
I was amazed how much easier it was to fly with the bright tail so.....

WalMart.lol....Krylon Neon Orange paint.
painting the CF is a bee-otch....
Need to rough it up and primer it.

I put like 20 coats on the 500 fin and wing.
I like it now.All soft and rounded edges.
It pitted bad and stuck to the cardboard so I had to use Bondo glazing putty on the holes and sand it out.I also went around the perimeter with Bondo and sanded the edges smoother.
Then a ton of paint made it nice and soft looking.
Looks like plastic now with a carbon fiber skeleton.

Sounds like a lot of work, but an excellent result.

I paid $7 for the 250's fins at helidirect. I probably would have gone the lazy route with the rest of them too ;D

It's my OCD that caused the extra work.
I paint something and can't wait more than an hour to use it.lol....

I'm just barely kidding about OCD.
I seriously can't wait for paint to dry.

I had to bondo and paint my thumbprints on almost all of them even after I installed them.
