Today I unleashed the Super Cubs fury. The other day out of boredom I modified my super cub so it could fit a 2200 mah battery so I could extend its run time. The Super Cub I never felt had the power it should of with the 480 brushless motor, with a 10x8 prop it had about the same power as a SC with a brushed motor.
Well today I maiden the super cub with the 3s 2200 mah battery. WOW what a difference the battery made, the SC has so much more power now. Id say it goes atleast 20 mph faster and has unlimited vertical, it has similar performance to my t28 speed wise. It goes close to 50 mph now straight and level speed. It also can handle more wind, there was a good stiff wind that would have thrown around the SC before but now it barely noticed it.
I probably came close to tearing the wings off. I felt so confident with the new power the SC had that I tried an outside loop, before I would of never attempted one. It took some space but the SC did it well, the wings were bending downward pretty good. Im considering putting a carbon rod through the wing to stiffen it once I add ailerons to the SC.
Before I was using the stock Hobbyzone 3s 1300mah 15c lipo battery, I now find that it was the culprit for the lack of power the SC had. Before I thought that I had gotten a 480 brushless motor that wasnt up to par. The Blue Lipo 3s 2200mah 25c that I used weighs alot more and you can feel it when youre carrying the Super Cub around. Its weird how much of a difference the battery can make even when it has the same voltage. And just to make sure it was the battery I flew the SC right after with the Hobbyzone battery and the performance was the same as before.
I just cant believe how much more power and speed the Super Cub has now its like a totally new animal.

I would think that the larger "C" rating of your new battery would explain the increased performance.

That's definitely it. Higher C ratings allows the motor to draw more amps, ergo more power. I won't use anything less than 30C batteries in my parkfliers. My Darkside Stryker has Thunder Power 45C 6S, with a max burst of 90C. I still haven't used them yet (waiting on the right adapter). I'm using Turnigy 20C's now - far from optimal. I'm expecting to add 10mph and up a prop size with the higher C rating.
Long story short - higher C rating = more power and more efficiency for your system.

Thanks guys, I never completely understood the C rating until now. I guess I never gave it much thought I knew that you wanted a higher C rating for higher amp draws but thats about all I knew before. Now I need to get more 3s 2200 mah 25c batteries Im using only one for the t28, exi 450, and super cub.

Hmmmm...if you wanna make that t-28 hum, you could do what I did and throw a bigger eflite motor like a power 15 (I have a Power 25). Throw in a 4S 2200 with a 25C rating and you'll have unlimited vertical and about a 15' takeoff.
