I am considering an EXI 500 to "store" the spare parts on ;D
Where can I get one that doesn't put money in Xheli pockets? Like to get one for cheap.Been overspending lately.

I have been unable to find Exi stuff anywhere other than Xheli and it's sister sites.
I wonder who Exi is?

there's a great kit for a 450 size on hobbycity.com (or hobby king) for cheap, around 35-40 bucks. And dealextreme has great price for hitec HS-65mg, buy 3 or more and you get more discount.

The hunt needs to start for who is making the Exi's that are the latest versions from 'them'.
It costs a lot to have custom screening applied to parts like they now have, unless they bought a bunch of them.
The actual manufacturing quality of these is good. But there have been some problems, at least I had a problem with a bent shaft on my Exi T-450SE CF. The Exi 450SE appears perfect.
The earlier Trex clone 'Exi's' (Squadron and MA450) didn't have 'Exi' screened on them, either, and the quality was 'different'.
It should not be hard to figure out who the manufacturer is of these newer Exi helis.
Several folks have looked at the super cheapie at Hobby City, but the Exi 450SE sure looks better in the pics, and is really nice in person. When 'those guys' had it on sale with free shipping for $50, this appeared to be an even better deal than HObby City, if you can believe that.
OOOHHHH, HS-65MG's from DealExtreme! I need to check that out! Kent (stuck in Norway for a while)

It's a evolving mystery as to who makes what for whom and it keeps changing so tracking it down is not realistic. Even the cloner's are being cloned. The only clue is when one etailer like "you know who" has an exclusive brand and it can't be find it elsewhere except at a sister site. Although, that doesn't mean it's not being sold elsewhere with a few cosmetic changes under a different label.
Happy landings
