I smacked my third super fast Funjet (second Funjet Ultra) a week ago. All of these crashes have happened on takeoff.
With the 2kw++ power, and even at low throttle settings, these things torque roll half a roll immediately. I usually can just continue the roll to complete it, and by then it's going fast enough to fly without any more rolling, but not always.
ALL of these crashes have been at launch. Crash 1: Toss the thing at 1/2 throttle. It torqued over and smacked the ground before I could get to the sticks. Crash 2: The elevon ripped off at launch and I was unable to keep it under control. It smacked the pavement at probably 100mph! I only found the label to the AR6200. No receiver parts were ever found. The battery was flat. Complete destruction. (It was impressive!) Crash 3: Same as crash #1, but with a flattened battery.
I took all of the electronics out of it this time (crash #3) and put them in a baggie. This latest crash disassembled another AR6200, but I was able to find the pieces and tape the plastic housing together. It seems to still work for some reason.
I told myself to just let it go and give up on these, a week ago.
I just hit 'buy' on a new Ultra. What is wrong with me? Kent

Better change the wording under your avatar.
"I love the Ultra!"

You're an addict Buddy. I went through three of those as well. They are really fun though.
Have you tried the jet-a-palt with any of them?

I'd suggest a 12 step withdrawl program, but it didn't work for me, so it probably won't work for you. ;D I had the same obsession with the PKZ Spitfire. I built 3 of them over 3 years and all 3 of them bit the dirt before I was finally able to go Cold Turkey on the type. I did get a lot of flying time on the last one. I remember it fondly. I'm sure you've tried using opposite aileron to counter the torque. How about launching it with even less throttle and a more gradual increase in throttle? The basic problem is you're not getting enough air over the wings/airspeed to manage the torque. The only thing to do is get those two effects in balance one way or the other. Good luck with #4

I'm using the Jetapult religiously from now on. There are no launch problems with these. No Jetapult, no Funjet launch!
I didn't have it with me when I crashed the last time. Bummer! Kent

I've fallen prey to the "need to fly" syndrome as well, Kent. It usually ends up similar to your incident.

Good decision IMO kent. "The need to fly" has been the stage from which many a "bad day" was launched.
