OK the past month was really bad for the 500 class heli I sent the rx into futaba for repairs its came back with $18.50 worth of repairs parts the new scorpion hk-3026-1600 came in the futaba s9257 came in the castle creations came back from being repaired now I did have some brand new spectrum servos come in but they are too small for the 500 mounts so now I am waiting for 3 ds510 servos to get here and I ordered a lubricating kit for the scorpion motor as I have three of them now the only thing I haven't changed is the gyro will see how that works out Might just Waite till next month and order a mini g gyro that way I will be starting all the way from scratch Then if the 500 still don't work for me all of them are going to be history

Over the last few years I've been right where you're at more than once. I feel your pain. I've got a box full of parts I don't need, and now, will never use. This hobby has a way of drilling a well into your wallet, then pumping it dry. For what it's worth, I'm a big fan of the CY gyros. As far as high end gyros go, I've used the GP750, Quark, Solid G, and Mini G. My favorite is the Mini G. The only thing is, you may want to purchase a G view along with it. That makes programming a cakewalk. On my Gaui 425 (500 class), I'm slinging 430's. I use the Spektrum H5000's on the cyclic, and the JR3500 on the tail. I don't think H5000's would stand up if I stretched it to a true 500 (uses 500mm blades). There are these servo adapter plates customheliparts.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=63_39_42&product_id=70Anyway, hang in there.

thank you Doozer Nice to know someone else has been here . Thanks for the link for the servo adaptor plates I do have the servo's installed but I had to adapt the frame to them a little bit but the problem I'm having is the rods that go from the servo to the swash is the biggest headache cause I either have to cut them in half or weld a half inch onto them depending on which way I mount them ;D So I am throwing them in the useless parts bin unless the wifey sells them on ebay for pennys on the dollar ;D Yes the mini g is the way to go I already have 2 of them in use and I do have the g view to help with programming them They are amazing gyros in my opinion

Update the align ds510 servos showed up yesterday . so now the rebuild starts already have the servos installed Had a bad time finding the online manual for the trex 500 but finnaly found one as I am starting the rebuild from scratch and going over everything again. I have not hooked up the gyro yet so that I can adjust the tail directly.
Installed the ice lite esc The scorpion motor is installed with a 13 tooth pinion. Charged up the new battery 6s 3600 mah
Waiting for a swash leveler to get here so that I can get the swash level ( I chose to buy one rather than use zip tie)
Have all my servo to swash links adjusted to 50 mm in lenght according to the manual this is a starting point so will adjust from there
On a side note while adjusting the links I found 2 ball links broken so now I have raptor parts installed on this 500
Now I have a question on the esc the instructions tell me to move the throttle to half stick then plug model in and then move throttle stick to lowest position is this how this works Hmmmm? ;D I am playing with a lot of power here ;D
OK thats the update

I always use throttle hold. I think they are saying to do that as the ESC will not arm (theoretically!) until the throttle is at low stick.
I sure wish there was a better safety switch on these things. I have never been bit by one spooling up unexpectedly using throttle hold, though. Kent
