I used my airbrush tonight... very fun. I watched many many ....many videos. That airbrush will make some surprisingly thin lines. I could get it about as thin as a pen stroke at 15 psi. I did reduce the paint a little too much. I also used a stocking to strain the paint. The whole set up was a lot easier to use than I thought it would be.
I made a makeshift paint booth out of a cardboard box and used my portable table to paint on. I painted some poster board we had laying around. I practiced lines, but like I said I reduced the paint a little too much. My black came out light, and I struggled to keep the yellow from running. That's why you play a little first. When I can get the paint to come out like I want, I'm going to do a canopy. I've got two Frenzy canopies I can paint. I really want to experiment with flames. I've always thought an kandy blue canopy with white flames would look very cool. Make it look like glass.
Anyway, I'll get there.

I found, when I first learned to use the airbrush years ago, that getting paint the right consistency was the first battle. Mastering the spray control the second. And finally: Creating a great design, having a plan and knowing how to execute it and cutting masks/friskets. Then: Practice, practice practice.
