Well before Dave lets the cat out of the bag or in his case out of the BBQ grill this is the DDVP 2100KV motor capable of handling a prop up to 8". The mount is machine aluminum and the wires go down the center of the boom. Attachments:

This is the carbon fiber boom with a snap clip I made out of teflon to stabilize the boom in the body. The stock one just floats around inside and does not look very stable. I really think the boom could be eliminated and the stock body has enough strength to hold the tail assembly but this is stronger. Attachments:

This is the back side of the DDVP the body will be painted the Olive drab color soon. I did not have to cut out the tail I could have just raised the motor a little higher and it would have looked like some of the gear boxes they used on the real early one's but I thought this would look better. Here is a photo of the interior I mounted some 1/8 bass wood to mount the tail servo on one side and the gyro on the other. I wanted to be able to get to them, I will be using a Sullivan CF cable for tail/servo control. I also floated in some epoxy into the bottom to level out and strengthen the floor of the body. I also redesigned the rear mount so it fits the contour of the body.. Attachments:

This picture shows the aluminum elbow I made to kick up the tail I could have used the one that had the belt drive that come with it but by using this I lost 10 grams worth of tail weight even with the motor. One part you cannot see is the support block that I machined up front this allows the boom to kick up at the same angle as the tail otherwise the stock method kicks the main shaft forward a lot and gives the bird a funny appearance. This is the DDVP and the tail control it fits in there real easy the stock belt drive requires a lot of cutting and fitting and holes that distract from the look and strength of the tail. I will fill in where the factory cut out is since I do not need the big gapping hole the factory has. Attachments:

And last for now is the side view I will be painting it soon after I get the running lights as well as the Akent designed strobe lights installed. The 400 Alpha motor should have more power since 20% is not used to drive the tail but if it does not have enough poop a turnigy Typhoon will replace it. If these photos do not turn out right it is because this is my first time and I am not using photo bucket or any other outside source... ;DRay Attachments:

The real Huey has a slight kick forward but If you look at this stock picture of the same heli you will notice how far forward the main shaft is tipped to the front this is so you get get the belt driven tail in there. The way my chassis is mounted the boom would not even fit inside the body so I remachined a new mount the photo of mine is a little deceiving because of the angle of the shot but it is very straight with the body more like the real Huey it may not fly any better but it looks better to me. Here is the stock belt drive it is very congested and very heavy in there. The pulley system often fails and you are forced to buy there extra long belt.. Attachments:
