E-flite has a Beechcraft Staggerwing ARF on the way! It is due to arrive 21 July. (yeah, I know about their record on arrival dates). I have loved this plane since I was a teenager. You can bet I will be on the pre-order list. Oh, BTW it has optional pneumatic landing gear and you can hook up flaps with an extra servo. It has a three foot wingspan. secure.hobbyzone.com/catalog/HZ/index/index_park_flyers_arf/EFL6125.html

I'm disapointed though that they chose a military paint scheme which does nothing for the looks of this beautiful plane, IMO. I guess I'd paint it one of the popular civy treatments.

I thought you would find this interesting 19K, and I agree that the color scheme is underwhelming. I have never heard of pneumatic landing gear before. It sounds neat! I am going to have to help out the economy and get one.

I see that Horizon Hobby has moved back the release date to late August. Surprise, Surprise.

That is annoying, but normal for HH.
That is one awesome sounding plane! I also love the staggerwing!
One thing I noticed though is that it uses the Eflite 40 amp ESC. Make sure you use ONLY the stock setup. Don't try to push anything, or that ESC will fry. Ask me how I know! Kent

I've heard a lot of negative comments on EFlite ESCs, and have decided to try a Turnigy Trust 55A SBEC instead. I'll be using 5 of the EFlite servos.

Kent's right, beware of over amping the Eflites.
Although Horizon claims they have a cushion built in the fact is some do fail. I had a couple of 30A's go bad which Horizon repalced a long with one plane that was destroyed. I've had better luck with their 40A Pro and ProLites, but I still wouldn't push them at all. For the most part the Turnigys have been good.

I've only had an issue once with an ESC on my Habu. HH sent me a brand new one for the cost of shipping. I always leave a cushion with the amps and never hit WOT for more than 6 second bursts (unless there's a major cushion).
I'm more of a fan of the Castle ESC's anyways. You can't go wrong with the data logging. It's awesome.
