Nice flying, Doozer! And NO SMOKE! The sky is still blue!
I love it!
Now, if they could just make a better muffler.... Kent

Not my flying kent. Just put those up for the haters. People dog on gassers because of power issues (thrust to weight ratio)... common misconception that they can't do 3D. Can they do anything an electric or nitro can do?.... Nope.... but in my hands it can. That goes for most mortals. I don't stick bang and for my purposes a gasser has enough power to everything I can throw at it. And I'll stay in the air at least twice as long doing it.
If I get my needles and throttle curves set to where I don't overspeed, I'll put some loops and rolls on video. Because of the heat I've leaned out the needles some and this is making my throttle curve percentages a little too high. My head speed with the current curves is over 2K and that translates 13.5K rpms... about 1K outside max power. Had a temp in the 270's. I know Ern.... "get a governor," but I'm having fun playing with curves (don't we all).

Flew a long time last night... even though it was very hot. At sunset it was 110 and stayed 100 until about 11Pm last night. There was also a fair amount of humidity in the air.
This is my last HB6 video for a while until I do something new to it or with it.
I'm looking at a Radikal in the near future, or at the very least a HWC 700 conversion. I like the Helibug very much, its a quality conversion, I just think $50 bucks for a pinion is a bit much (read: too expensive to repair). If for some reason you get the pinion stuck in the clutch bell, you're spending another $75 bucks which is 1/4 of the cost of the conversion. Century/Heli World has always had relatively cheap parts. The new heli is off in the distance though.... I'm still sort of weighing my options.

The helibug is a great heli. But like you, or someone said in another post, it has some drawbacks. The biggest one being that it's just one guy making them. If something were to happen and he couldn't make the parts anymore, you'd be stuck. He also wants a mint for his spare parts. $50 bucks for a pinion.... $70 for a side frame... If you're going to convert a nitro... I'd consider Heli Worlds Gasser conversions. The clutch is beefier, and it's just about as expensive. I have no experience with them, but others have and they seem to enjoy them. Also the gas tank is visible, which brings with it a little peace of mind when flying.
Nitro and gas are a blast... but you'll find gas/Coleman is much cheaper than nitro. If you aren't worried about smell... gas is a lot cheaper and no need to drive to the hobby shop or Wal-Mart for your fuel.
