Man, those guys are making me broke!!!
It looks like it flies a little bit like my UMX Beast, but with far less coupling. The Beast will snap faster than you can see it, too! Kent

The Beast is a blast to fly! You need room, though. This is very hard to keep in a small area, as it's fast. It also has better than 1:1 power, so it has unlimited vertical. My problem with it is that I lose orientation fairly easily with radical maneuvers... I have not crashed this, but I have come close!
If you get one, you should order some GWS 5x3 props. These are super cheap from HK. I think Eflite want's several bucks each for the same thing. Kent

The main reason why I would buy one is so I can fly in the field right outside my doorstep. The field is roughly the size of a baseball field. And not have to take a 10 minute walk, to a bigger field.

I've seen several different people fly The Beast in an indoor basketball court, although they had their hands full even throttled back as much as they could. I wouldn't think a baseball field would be any problem.

That's plenty big of an area, Basher.
I've just seen folks fly other little micros in very small places. The Beast needs more area than those do.
A baseball field sized place is more than enough! That is perfect!
Oh, and I have never hand launched mine. I taxi it out like a large plane and then take off from the runway! It might hand launch Ok. I just never tried. It will NOT take off from grass. It will nose over. At WOT, the takeoff run is maybe 5-10 feet max, so you might be able to use a piece of wood or something! Landing on grass is no problem. Just come in as softly as you can and it will land and probably cartwheel. No problem if you land softly.
I will try hand launching mine tomorrow. Kent

Thanks Scar and Kent, the Beast looks to be a pretty fun plane. I thought about the other micros but have heard that the little coreless motors burnout pretty quick. I might not buy a beast right away, I'm having a blast flying this scratchbuilt jet that I made for a buck. Maybe I'll buy one when I get tired of the dollar tree foam and want something thats BnF and that has spent countless hours being engineered instead of a couple of hours thrown together.

If you decide to go with The Beast, look for the Beast owner's thread under micro planes in RCGroups forum. There is a world of good info there.

Yep, losing orientation is the biggest problem with a fast highly aerobatic plane for me. I have to concentrate on keeping the plane close.
