Well I had planned on coming in this afternoon and getting a few more pictures up on the build and maybe buying the motor. Couldn't be that lucky. When I got home this afternoon and opened the door I was met by a steam of water coming at me down the hall Turns out the eighteen year old had put some of his cloths in to wash and the damn washer decided to give it up and of all places to give it up it was on the fill cycle and what happens when it breaks and it is on the fill cycle. You get met by a stream of water at the front door Not only did it make it down the hall it made in into the garage out the door and down the driveway. It went under a wall into the closet in our bedroom and also upstream into the living room carpet. To top it off I had to go buy a new washer. Now I ask you, where in the hell am I going to put that thing on the 425 You know how I said in my build thread this was going to be a slow build, well it just got slower All in all, not a bad day though considering Dave

That sucks, Dave. I hope your insurance will fork over for one of those suck'r up and dry it out companies to help with the cleanup.... Although I suppose the rest of the family is used to that old musty smell by now.

...Although I suppose the rest of the family is used to that old musty smell by now. Man, how to kick a guy when he's down...but snicker-worthy nonetheless. Tough go there Dave. I've experienced floods at home before and no matter how well it gets cleaned up, there's always something showing up months or years later. If you are claiming under insurance, make sure you consider everything.

That is something crappy to come home too Dave A friend of mine had a washing machine valve broke when they where on vacation they come back to a basement full and I mean full of water. They got everything cleaned up and repaired. Not learning there lesson a month later the hose to the washing machine burst when they where away for the weekend a basement full of water again the insurance company was not as gracious the second time .. BT, it's good to have you back. No one can say it quite like you do. Musty smells aside, insurance should take care of the cleaning. It did when my 100gal solar water tank broke and flooded the whole house. Yuk. good luck with it dave.

Well the bad news is....wait I all ready told you that. Wait there's more..... insurance deductible $2000.00. As best as we can figure at this point we can't meet that so it looks like it may all come out of my wives sewing hobby....lol. I might be old and musty but I'm smart. She got a new washer out of the deal so keep your pickers off my heli money ...................................dear. Dave

Dave, I really feel bad about that comment. It was very inappropriate of me and I would never do it again. I should have had more regard for your feelings especially considering how recent this problem is and how little time you've had to deal with it. I'm sure you would rather have a sympathetic ear. My sincere apology ...... Ok, that's all a lie. I still think it was funny ...
Seriously, though, I don't know what you are up against as far as water intrusion in carpet, under walls, insulation, drywall etc., but I'll bet it would be worth it to file the claim anyway just to document in case it rises above the 2k level. Good luck with it.
I'm done being serious. I have to save the serious stuff for work.

Well there is a company coming out in the next few minutes to tell us how much it will cost to remove all the water that keeps creeping out of the walls and onto the carpet and to estimate how much might still be under the wood floor from the front door to the living room area where the carpet begins. My new motor came in this morning for the 425 before the wife got off to work. Will get a picture of it up here on this thread later. You guys are going to love it Dave
