I was just wondering why Futaba doesn't have model match like Jr or spectrum Yep did it again this morning fired up the new titan SE except the TX was set to the 50 v2 raptor and the throttle went wide open I think it was a little exciting for a little bit I had to pull the fuel line off the carb to kill the engine yep smoked the clutch Ordered a new one from Ron's helipros south right after But I was thinking if Futaba had model match this would not of been necessary I would have caught the mistake first Oh well live and learn

That's a little scary...no make that a whole bunch scary. I know absolutely nada about Futaba radios, but there must be a fail-safe somewhere. I'm sure you're not the only victim of having the wrong model selected at startup.

I've made that mistake on my DX7 a few times and am grateful that, after I stopped swearing at the "Stupid radio" and realized what I'd done, that the model match was doing its job.

What really makes me upset is this is the second time doing this this year first time was with the copterx 450 and that was a total rebuild sure wish Futaba had model match function on there exspensive radios with more than one model on them But that would make too much sense to do that and might add couple dollars to the price of the radio

That has happened to more than one guy at the Austin flying field with Futaba radios!
Nothing bad happened, but it surely could have... Kent

Ok. You guys have convinced me. I was sold on Futaba but my next radio will be the Aurora 9

Yeah there's always that I hear that the aurora is a good radio but I think that I will stick with the Futaba radios and add a model match unit to my heli's here is a link to the unit I am thinking about www.modelguard.com/

Ya, been flying the 7c, in the last month I ended up with another 7c new and bought a 8fg super. The 8 has a problem almost as bad. Hold has the highest priorty, normal has the lowest. The 3 idleups have higher priorty, if you forget you can go from hold to wide open at the flip of a switch, never mind the sticks. Been futaba fiend long time, don't know about this though.

I think in radios a guy just needs to have one really good one to do all the models with so he is used to it only and knows all the quirks it has

Agreed. I love my 7, had it for 2 years and its already outlasted 3 spektrums. But, it didn't have enough channels. Bought the 8fg super for channels and its match up with the cgy750 gyro. The 2nd 7c came with a Pantera I just purchased. It's never been completely setup. It has not been a lot of fun relearning 'futaba' to understand the 8fg's manual, if I ever get moved over I will be using it for a loong time.

Yes the 7c or 6 don't have enough channels but what I did was buy channel exspansion moduals and this allows me to run onboard glow starter and run governors with out having to buy another radio this worked for me. learning these new radios is a real pita for me
