Cox has just scaled back how much web storage I can use per email address. It went from 20mb to 10mb per email address. I have 20mb worth of media on some of those accounts, so I have to try to do some shifting around and consolidating. I'm positive that some media will have to go to fit into the new space requirement. Because of the amount of work that it takes to post a build up, and coupled with the fact that I'm retuning my website members.cox.net/robbyshelis/, I'm not real sure that I'll ever take the time to re-post pics in threads that aren't on the first page. My gasser thread is daunting enough. If someone would like to copy the threads now, then repost them, that's cool with me. I'm going on vaction, again, and I'll be back in a week. I'm going to start shifting and probably deleting images that are older due to web space restrictions. Sorry about this, I just found out about the change trying to load a picture up for Dave. I feel like I've wasted a bunch of time, and I'm a little upset at cox for the lack of warning. sorry guys, Robby

Well that sucks Robby have you thought about putting them over at someplace like photobucket or such. I know that is a lot of work but I hate to see these disappear they are so great and the detail you go, well I just hate to see them disappear.

I'm looking for a solution now. I'll have a place, even if I have to pay for it. The problem would be to go through each thread and figure out which image goes where after moving them. I suppose over time I can get it done, but just the thought of that gives me a headache. Especially some of the electric threads... I'm really not into electric anymore and that would make it twice as hard mentally. It might be good to re-do the gasser thread because a lot has changed, and I really want that to be accurate... but the others.... bleccchh. I've tried cox's "media share" and that really sucks. It's hard to get things rolling over there... I hate putting photos up on places like photobucket. There's always a catch. I like having control of the media. You Tube has worked out, but I'm thinking eventually I'm going to run out of space there too. So I don't know.... I'll figure it out I guess.

I see your a member over at the collective and I know they have a place for photos. Maybe you could put them there and then somehow link them back here to the thread. Not sure that would work just a thought.

Ok. Heres the plan. I'm going with a domain name and 50GB storage. So, starting next week, hopefully, the threads will come down for a short time (few hours, days, weeks, maybe). I'll be moving my website there too. I can FTP and have unlimited bandwidth, so that's a relief. The upload times will be very short, and I can do multiple files at a time. This is a relief.
In the past, I've had difficulties with the ftp process and cox. To tell you the truth, it's been a big reason I haven't wanted to deal with updating the site. It was a major PITA... one file at a time. This new service is only a few bucks for the year, and it will make my life easier/more fun.
If I go over 50GB... shoot me.
As soon as I get it all done, I'll post here.
